    I got this toy as a gift for my niece on her first birthday and she just loves it! She can't really figure out how to sit on it yet, but she loves using it to stand up and trying to get it just right. My nephew, who is 3, is also in love with the horse and will kick his little sister off at times to get to it! In all, it's a great toy and a great present :)

    Its not heavy so if you have a child like mine that is strong for their age, then a sturdier one would be better. I bought this for his first b-day but he didn't get into until a couple months later. By that time he was so strong and rocking so hard that he went face forward a couple of times! He's a dare devil and loves it but gives me a heart attack every time. Wish I got a sturdier one. But it was a great one for the price. And I wasn't willing to pay more until I saw how my son liked it. Good starter rocking horse.

            My son is big on any toy that moves or makes noise. When my husband set this up, our son immediately ignored his music table and climbed on! The horse has now become a welcome reprieve from all the noise our rambunctious little boy can make. The only noise we hear when he rides it is the sound of he laughter. That is the best sound in the world!

                          Purchased this for our granddaughter's first birthday & she was able to maneuver Patches into the center of the room because it wasn't too heavy, but very sturdy for her to sit on & rock. It took her a week to start rocking because up until then all her other toys had been jumpers, but now she's even getting on by herself. The plastic is very safe (rather than wood) & Patches is cute & nicely neutral for both boys & girls!

                                  I bought this for my one year old daughter who already walks. At first I thought I would hold onto it until she was a little bigger but once we put her on it she was good to go! She doesnt have the rocking down yet but she has her sisters scoot her around on the carpet. It came already assembled all I had to do was put the stickers on and the directions were easy to read, my 6 yr old did most of them.
