love this thing. well thought out, small travels well, has a quieter setting & great for both my 2 yr old and 4 yr old. might have to get 2 because now they fight over it. have never reviewed a product - but this is the best [$] i've spent in a long time!

This is such a GREAT learning toy! My 29 month old son is mezmorized by it every time he turns it on! I'd like to think I taught him well but, I can't take the credit for this one... he learned to write letters because of this toy! I couldn't be happier with this product!

My kids HATE writing

As soon as I took this out of the box my 5 year old autistic son who HATES and struggles with writing and drawing wouldn't stop playing with it to look where he was walking! We have fine motor issues and he is uncomfortable holding a pencil correctly. This toy forces him to hold the stylus correctly because of it's fat design and he is really working on writing his letters correctly in a way he will not on paper. I got it tonight and he and his brother (6, also autistic, also dislikes writing) took turns for an hour and then 5 year old requested to take it to bed with him. I love toys that disguise work as play- especially for the kids that struggle harder to gain skills.

My 4 year old and almost 2 year old fight over this toy (we also have Text and Learn and love it). It is engaging, educational, and keeps them occupied in the car and while out on errands. We never leave the house without it. My daughters recognize all letter (lower and upper case) and my 4yo is able to write all the letters.

My kids and I really like it, as we do most other Leapfrog toys. It teaches upper case and lower case, practicing writing, and when the letters that are lit up turn off the children can see what they have written. It has letter guessing where the children follow the lights with the stylus and have to figure out what letter it is. It also has a drawing feature. Very cool toy!

My 4 year old daughter received this for Christmas, and she frequently plays with it. It is perfect for in the car as well as at home playing. She loves the drawing feature, and sometimes draws pictures on it with it turned off. Her little brother watches her play with it, and when he can get ahold of it, he also plays with it. He draws with the pen and even knows to press the paw button (like it tells you to) when he is finished. Awesome learning tool! He is 18mo old and I feel this will help teach him as he gets older. With no chokeable parts, I would even recommend this for a very young child to get some long-term use out of it.

My 3 year old daughter got this for Christmas (6 months ago) and still plays with it several times a week. We take it in the car, to Grandma's, to the doctor's office...She's recently stopped napping, but she's willing to have quiet time in her room and frequently chooses her Scribble and Write during quiet time. I like that it has different modes for her to play. She's good at figuring out which letter Scout wants her to choose, and she can trace really well. The mode where she follows the dot and makes a picture is challenging for her, but it's good to be challenged! The only thing I don't like about it is if it wants you to trace a "J" and instead you make an "X", it still tells you that you did a great job! All in all, this product is great and I would definitely recommend it for 3 year olds (my 2 year old doesn't do as well with it)

We got this as a gift for her 4th birthday. Can't say enough great things about this educational, fun toy! I read other reviews and put this on her wish list when people asked what to get. Exceeds what I thought and so pleased. Very reasonable price - look for it on sale. Our daughter has some slight fine motor delays, she's lefty and often toys with pens do not reach well for lefty. Her writing is improving so much and it's very fun. She pretends it's her Blackberry. There is also a "game" mode to draw surprises like a flower, puppy - she is delighted to draw things she really cannot draw yet on her own. She and BFF sit on their knees facing the couch as a desk and take turns for long period of time. I agree that some type of lighted keypad for the car would be nice, yet it really is a perfect toy. We toss it in her small backpack for restaurants and various places to keep her occupied! Both the boys and girls love this one!

My 3 year old son plays with this in the car often. I purposely keep it there so he has something educational to play with when we ride around town. I'd give it 5 stars if it had a lighted feature for night time. As it is, I have to keep the dome light on in the car when he uses it at night. Other than that, it's almost perfect.
