I was wary of this seat because I didn't know if it was sturdy but I'm pregnant and picking up a two year old to put him on the toilet was getting old fast. This has been the ticket. Here's what you need to know though:First of all, it won't fit on the toilet on top of the toilet seat. You have to raise the toilet lid AND the toilet seat and then the seat is at the right level. Second, the seat itself is very soft which has helped my son as he learns to go.Third, the legs and seat are meant to swivel easily. This makes it super easy to pick up the seat by the handles and set the seat against the wall when an adult needs the toilet. BUT, this also makes it so that, while sitting on the seat, the child can push down on the handles and the legs/step will come up off of the floor. This doesn't endanger the child at all because the seat is still firmly on the toilet but it can be a distraction for why you're on the potty in the first place. I usually have my feet in front of the legs and that's enough to hold them down so that he's not playing when he should be "busy". I do love SO much that this answers my need for not picking my kiddo up all the time while also answering my son's desire to always "do it myself". That's the BEST part of this. I would never want him to use it without my supervision but that would be the case even with an on-the-floor potty. This way I can just be there and it uses up his energy and not mine (which is my daily goal anyway). As far as it not being for boys... I'm not sure I understand that comment from people. Most grown-up boys I know still have to hold things down if they were to sit on the toilet instead of standing so, as far as I'm concerned, I'm just training my kiddo early. He fits fine on the seat so he's not having to balance precariously in order to keep things held down. From what I can tell, the only other option is to have a cup in front of him and that would only create one more thing that he'd have to get used to when transitioning to a big potty. Just my thoughts.

We really liked this seat while my son was going through the "sit on the potty but don't really do anything" stage. The handles are great and he is really able to get up on the toilet easier and feels more secure. I would probably give this seat 5 stars if we had a girl. However, my son turned a corner about a week ago and is going potty all the time. When he goes pee, this seat does not at all help keep it in the toilet. The bump that's supposed to be a deflector doesn't do anything. He's either shooting over the seat or under it - either way he makes a mess. We've conquered the going in the potty part, though we're of course always there with him, we shouldn't also have to have him leaning all the way forward or pointing his parts a certain way so as to not make a mess. We're going out today to get a new seat. If you have a boy - keep looking.

My 3 year old uses it downstairs everyday! It is comfortable and well made. The seat cleans up easily as well. The only criticism I have is I wish the step was a few inches wider because it is sometimes difficult for him to climb up and then turn around. He tries to hold on to the toilet paper holder. I encourage him to hold on to the handles. It is a great buy overall!

my daughter loved her Cushie Step Up Potty seat!!! since the day i got it, potty training has been a breeze. I never even have to ask her if she wants to gobyo the toilette, she does it on her own with excitement each time as she likes setting it up and climding up the step. it's light weight and easy to store, essy to clean as well. i'f say mommy's helper really did help. i would recommend it to mommies having difficulty potty training their little ones as they would sure love it.

This is a great potty chair. My grandson was able to get on the big potty by himself and wasn't afraid he'd fall in. Love it!

Fits my elongated bowl better than the last few we tried, and comfortable enough that he sat on a for a few minutes without trying to get off. Overall worth buying.
