First kids "walk" the bike by pushing with alternating feet, then lift one foot and then two, until they are confidently gliding and balancing. Glide Bikes are U.S.-designed with mountain bike geometry, giving your child a lower center of gravity for more stability and safer balancing. No pedals or training wheels to get in the way.

Invented by Ed, a father and avid cyclist who saw the need for a learning bike with superior construction and design, the Mini Glider has been road tested by Ed's own children to ensure that the product meets all design and quality requirements, and most importantly, that it's fun! The lightweight alloy frame is easy to maneuver and the foot pegs give kids a great way to glide. The quick-release seat clamp makes height adjustments easy, handlebars adjust for proper arm alignment, and the easy-to-use handbrake is sized just right for small hands. There is minimal assembly and all Glide Bikes are covered by a lifetime warranty! Cool "Glide Bikes Kid" graphics adorn the frame and the handlebar cover. I ordered this balance bike for my 3 y.o. son after researching several types/brands. I was down to the Mini-Glide and the Strider. Ultimately I went decided on the Mini-Glide for the handbrake and the foot pegs and it seems to have a little more ability for a custom fit (adjustable handlebars and quick adjust seat height). Being a pediatric occupational therapy practitioner, I am an advocate of the balance bike in general. My son has a tricycle and still enjoys it, but he sits taller and just exudes confidence when he's on his balance bike.

I was a little disappointed on a couple aspects: the handlebars were advertised with a limited turn ratio, but ours are free moving and easily rotate 360 and get the brake cable (I will say the company was quick to send a replacement handlebar set). I also thought the footpegs could be turned to align with the frame to have them out of the way while he is first getting used to the bike, but there is not enough clearance. You can, however, remove them completely. Now I just have to keep track of them to put them back on later!

This is the best bike to learn on. We borrowed the Strider balance bike from our friends and it cut our sons leg really bad. This bike has all the extras (brake, smooth edges so your kid won't get cut, kick stand, foot rest) and cost the same as the Strider. My son is 2 and cruises around the neighborhood. The best thing is that we can get to the park quickly and I actually have to run to keep up. If you can't choose between this and the Strider get this one it's way better.

Very well constructed, seat and handle bars adjust to fit the child, easy to use as a first bike for my four year old son. We just got him started and we have few places to use it so it may be a slower process for us. If we had a sidewalk, I think he would be taking off on it. Great concept! My son is average height and has room to grow on it.
