Product Description

Make bath time easier for you and more fun for baby with a tub that has three 'grow-with-me' stages, 2 bath toys, and a temperature guide that lets you know when the water is just right! A soft mesh sling comfortably cradles newborns in just the right amount of water, giving little ones a feeling of security. As baby grows, the tub 'grows,' too! Just remove the newborn sling and add the 'baby stopper' insert. It puts baby at a gentle recline, preventing slipping and sliding, and makes bath time less stressful! And when baby is ready to sit up and play, the baby stopper insert removes to reveal a tub that's just the right size. Included star scoop and turtle strainer are friendly bath tools for gentle rinsing, and fun bath toys for water play! Plug makes it easy to drain and dry; hide-away hook makes it easy to hang on a shower rod or door for easy, space-saving storage.

Features

  • Machine-washable sling for newborns
  • Baby stopper' insert prevents slipping and sliding
  • Insert removes so older babies can sit up and play
  • Water temperature guide
  • Includes two bath toys for gentle rinsing or play

My baby loves bath time and this tub has been perfect! I love the different supports it comes with to adjust with your baby's development. Not to mention it's easy to dry as it comes with its own hook, so we just store in the guest bath.

I only wish that there was a way to adjust the recline as my baby is a supported sitter right now, so she can't sit up by herself, but while reclined, she spends a lot of her time straining to sit up. Also, I wish it came with some no-slip grip pads on the bottom of the tub -- As is, I think it may be a bit slippery for when she starts sitting up on her own...

This tub worked well for us; however we did experience a problem (see "warning" below). Here are the Pro's & Con's about this tub:
PROs:
- The mesh hammock allows the rinse water to drain away from baby (i.e., the baby doesn't end up sitting in the dirty soap water because it filters through the mesh).
- The attached toy/teething ring kept my baby occupied while bathing.
- The tub fit just fine on our (long) countertop, and I was able to position the tub drain right above the sink for continuous draining into the sink. (Note, this changed once we used it inside our adult bath tub -- see below).
CONs:
- While laying on the hammock, baby will not be immersed in warm water during bathing. If you use the mesh hammock, baby will be suspended up and away from the water. This means that the wet baby might get cold being exposed to the air while you bathe him. We always kept the house quite warm (we turned up the heater during bath time) so this was not an issue for us. But, I thought I'd throw this out there for those who have babies that get cold easily.
- It would have been nice to have a non-skid bottom so that that the tub didn't slide around the counter or ceramic bath tub. We sometimes placed it on top of a towel to stabilize it.
- I wish this tub had feet to raise it up a little bit. This would aid in water drainage when you start using it inside a bigger adult bath tub. We started using this tub inside our adult tub, and it lies flat against the tub floor, so that the drainage hole gets covered and becomes useless. The little tub starts to fill up quickly with the dirty soap water, making clean rinses impossible without having to hold up the (slippery) baby with one hand. I might buy one of those baby bathing gloves to give me more "baby grip".
- Now, here is my WARNING: The plastic tub has a hump in the middle which serves as a seat for bigger babies (when used without the hammock). The hammock lies directly above this hump, and there is very little space between them. This means that when your baby gets heavy enough, the hammock will still suspend him -- but not high enough -- and his back will come in contact with the hump, with all his body weight on it. Imagine lying on a boulder or log against your back, and you will know how it feels! Please STOP using the mesh hammock once the baby's back comes in contact with the hump. Before each bath time, just quickly run your hand between the baby's back and the hump to make sure there is space between them. I did not always do this -- as you know, sometimes parents are on auto-pilot mode and go through our usual routines without always being vigilant. My baby ended up with a red mark across his back and was in pain. I feel terrible that my baby had to go through that and I am living with the guilt. That's why I decided to write this review -- to give other parents a heads-up.
So, in summary: Yes, I would recommend this bath tub; just make sure you are watchful of the baby's back against the hump.

Comments about Fisher-Price 1001124 Fisher-Price Aquarium Bath Center:

I love this bath center, i.e. baby bath tub. It was a no-brainer as it required very little assembly. Also, the infant insert is awesome, so you can use this tub from the moment your newbie's belly button stump falls off. I put this item on our registry as I was trying to select items that could grow with the baby. This was definitely one of the best items we received. Our LO actually enjoys bath time in the bath center, as she hated getting sponge baths.

I love it. My baby boy has been using it since 2 months old. He's almost 4 months old now, and still loves his bath in this. I love it because it's safe, comfortable for my baby, and easy to clean. The bestpart is the temperature monitor that helps regulate safe water temperature!

I absolutely love this bathtub! I bought one for my daughter ten years ago and again now for my son. It grows with your precious little one to keep them safe. The mesh sling is easy to remove and wash. A safety feature they have now that they didn't for my daughter is the temperature indicator to let you know if the water temperature is just right. That's a nice feature when you're just starting to get to know the temperature after a while you get to know without looking but I still like to check just in case and my daughter like to help with his bath so that's an easy tool for her to know she had the right temperature as well.

this tub was fine as an infant tub while using the sling, and likely would have worked fine as a toddler tub without the "stopper", but once our little one outgrew the sling and we used the tub with the stopper, it presented a significant safety issue. problem is, the stopper (the piece that is supposed to snap in and keep the baby from sliding down) doesn't attach well to the sides, and can (and does) detach from the walls resulting in the baby sliding down on to its back and potentially under water, if you're not quick to grab him / her. not worth it. i suggest spending a little more and getting the aqua scale which provides additional functionality, and has a stopper design that prevents similar issues..

This is by far the best bath tub I have found for a baby. When I registered for my baby shower, I first registered for the fancy bath tub with the temperature, etc. I found that they weren't deep enough, the temperature really didn't matter and frankly it was money wasted. I return out MOM bathtub ($50) and purchased this! The netting is perfect for the newbie and at a month 1/2 we took the net out and the baby has enough room to splash and its sturdy. Some of the other tubs are too wide and baby's head floos
