I have researched digital nail printers, prior to my purchase. I figured if Mattel made a kid friendly toy version, there has to be a home or salon based one out somewhere. Of course, with this unit you cannot create salon professional results so if you are trying to do that do not purchase. This is a "KID FRIENDLY" toy and is for kids. I give it 5 stars on concept alone. It is cute to have pajama night at home and do your nails with your kid, sibling, niece, cousin. Perfect gesture by Mattel and also, once again if you research the price of an actual digital nail printer, you would think that this is just a few bucks out of pocket. You cannot put a price on happiness and if help is involved it should work out fine. There are also how-to videos to show you how to use and operate this printer properly online. My only concern would be refills, obviously you need to purchase refill ink and I have not come across any as of yet:(...........

I had NO trouble with the alignment, I had NO trouble with clean up. In fact, I had NO trouble at all. I WILL post pictures, I am loving every second of this and I bough it for me!! I am 44 and I wouldn't say for small children, but for say 10 and up it is awesome. I have been importing Halloween pics to add to the over 1000 prints already there and having a blast. Everyone that has seen my nails WANTS this. I had a few questions and Mattel was MORE than happy to answer the phone and take the time to answer them. It is aimied at children, so NO it won't cover extremely long nails. But to put a rose or even just a picture of a Halloween cat in a pumpkin in the center of your fingernail it works awesome. I DID also use the tiger prints and swatch designs and it covered my entire nail and I had NO overrun. You just have to as with anything watch what you do and how you do it and you learn how and where to position your hand AND the print. Again, not something for a child, but as an adult, I LOVE THIS and can't say enough about it. I am beyond happy I bought it.

Don't buy it!I got mine yesterday and as badly as I want it to work it's not very good.If your child is small enough to be proud to wear their macaroni necklace, they will love this, otherwise without a lot of work - it will be embarrassing to wear.Under 10 will not be able to work the software.Mattel is resting in public interest to sell this product and did not aim for quality.I have a full review at [@]

This product takes forever to set up. The alignment process took forever and even after it was supposedly alligned it was still off center. The quality of the final printed nail was poor. If you have longer nails, it won't let you print on the whole area. It's only for short nails. A kid definitely can't work this on her own. The part where you put your finger in it snaps and hurts the cuticle while it's trying to print.
