              My nephew wanted this for his 6th Birthday and since I had perviously purchased all Star Wars items, I was so on board to check this off his list. After reading reviews though I was very very nervous he would be disappointed. He wasn't! My son who is 5 yrs old was there with him when we did it and they were both into (so was their dads). It did exactly what it was suppose to do. Sure, the explosion isn't an explosion but it's a kids toy. We did learn the effect worked better if you put the baking soda in first, though instructions say to add it last. And we also used Mountain Dew because we did not have club soda. Don't be frightened by the other reviews, our boys (all of them) enjoyed it.

                  This was a very expensive Christmas present for my 5 yr old son that is crazy about Star Wars. The first time we set it up and used it, even he was disappointed. Whoever manufactures this, should be ashamed. A whole lot of trouble and mess getting it to where it barely bubbles out the holes in the top. What a joke.

                      I only purchased this because it was at the top of my 5 year old son's Santa list. The volcano is a plastic shell, comes with two tiny, cheap plastic men and does not include any of the ingredients for the 3 experiments that are enclosed. This is NOT a [$] toy - maybe a $4.99 toy!!! Save yourself the $$$ and go to the craft store- they sell a complete kit for $6.99!

                      Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend
