Just completed a rear facing installation for a mom. Yes, the seat is big and this family had a big car so it did not create a problem. We used pool noodles to get the correct angle, but still found that what appeared to be a 45 degree angle by sight did not put the indicator line perfectly straight.

As a technitian, I am so pleased to see the higher weight limit for rear facing and the side impact safety features on this seat.

We were able to get a very tight fit using the seat belt in the center position.

We got this carseat to replace our 17 month-olds other convertible seat. We are expecting our second child and therefore our daughter won't be able to sit in the middle seat of our car anymore. I will feel much safer with her sitting in one of the outside seats in this carseat. She doesn't seem to mind the big head pillows on either side and it holds her head in place better when she's sleeping. The latch system is awesome! So easy. The straps don't get any more twisted than any other seat we've ever delt with. I wish the chest clip was a little stronger, it seems that it would be easy for my daughter to bump and unclip on accident, but that hasn't happened yet. I tried the seat rear facing in my car just for kicks and it wouldn't work, just too big! Our daughter has been forward facing for a while though so we'll leave it that way. Overall this is a great seat, as long as you're using it for forward facing ONLY, or have a very large backseat! We love the new concepts in safety and are getting the Safety 1st On Board Air Infant Seat for our baby on the way.

Easy to install, sturdy and snug in the car, very cozy for our son. Have not tried it rear facing, but ff it works great!

We bought this carseat after my 1 yr old son and I were in a bad car accident. The safety features give me back a lot of my piece of mind. In addition the outer sides are very padded also (unlike other seats) so I feel that my 9 yr old son that sits beside this seat is also more safe. My now 15 month old seems very confortable, I love the padding in this seat!

Could not install this in the back of the passenger seat of my Saturn VUE 2009 with out moving the passenger seat all the way to the front in order for the seat to be aligned with the floor. It moved side to side, even with the latch system, could not installed it tightly.
I'm returning this car seat to the local B r'us

This may be fine as a forward facing car seat but there is no possible way that this would go into our Honda Accord as a rear facing car seat. To get it to the 'level' line I would have had to add multiple towels and in my opinion that just isnt safe. It would also have been impossible to drive the vehicle as the front seats would have been moved so far forward you couldnt sit in them. We took it back and chose a little more wisely.

This is most ridiculous car seat to try and install rear facing. There s absolutely no possible way to fit this in our Honda Accord and still be able to drive car. It might be ok for forward facing but that's about it. Even with the straps completely tight it still wobbles about 6 inches to either side, no thanks. Its going back to Babies r Us as soon as I get done with this review.

We bought this car seat after doing a lot of research. We even took my son into the store to put him in it and make sure he wouldn't cry. He LOVED it. And still does. There were a lot of reviews about it not securing in the car properly, but after reading other reviews which suggested using a pool noodle and reading the directions, which tells you to use either a pool noodle or a rolled up towel, we went with a towel. If you have any kind of bucket seats, you'll want to use a rolled up towel under the front of the car seat (when facing the rear). it would help if you can make the seat flat by building up layers of towels and then rolling a towel under the front. Once we put him forward facing we won't need to use anything extra. He loves the extra room (a big 1 year old at 30.75in and 25lbs) and he uses the air protect side cushions as a pillow when he falls asleep.

The only thing I had a little trouble with was the straps, it seemed the right one would not tighten as much as the left, but unlike infant seats, there is just one strap that goes through the whole seat, so if I find one side won't tighten correctly, I adjust this at his hips and just slide it through till both sides are even, then I have no issues. We did have to move the front seat in our crossover SUV up so far that now I have to sit in the back when my husband drives, but once he's forward facing, that won't be an issue anymore. I did purchase covers for the straps at his neck so that it won't rub on him, but the were inexpensive at Babies R Us and they work great.

This is a great car seat with lots of safety features built in. The little bit of moving things around that you have to do is so worth the knowledge that your child is safe and comfortable. Good luck on your search, hope this helped.

This is the first online review that I have ever done, but it's because I want to warn consumers about this seat since Babies R Us doesn't even mention the minimum height requirement on their site. I bought this car seat when my son outgrew is infant seat. We still had a couple of months until his first birthday and thus forward facing. This car seat has a minimum height requirement of 34" in order to safely use it ff, which is a typical limitation for car seats. I contacted the manufacturer, who said the car seat is not rated for ff use for shorter children and then they proceeded to letcure me on keeping my child rear-facing for at least another couple of years. I am concerned about my child's safety, but feel that if we were in an accident the direction of his car seat would not be the difference between life and death (especially if the rest of the car seat is rated so well in crash tests). My son is in the 75% for height and would likely not reach the 34" height requirement for many more months or even another year. This car seat is extremely large and takes up a lot of space when installed rear facing and at the correct recline angle. We are unable to use the front seat of our cars (even our large SUV), which was fine for the couple of months that we thought we would need to use it rear-facing, but I will not put up with such a large rear-facing car seat for any longer when there are better options available.[...](we decided to not go with the pricy Britax models, but rather the Evenflo Symphony 65).

My husband and I decided to purchase this product after many weeks of research. We were most attracted to the extra side impact protection and the easy-to-clean material. I made the decision to install the seat in my car (a Mazda Tribute) while my husband was at work, and I must say I came quite close to throwing it the trash can. The instructions are TERRIBLE!!!!! After a good forty-five minute struggle, I finally got the seat "installed" (I use this word loosely because that is exactly how the seat installs- loosely). We are able to use the LATCH system in our vehicles, but no matter how tight you make it, the seat still flops around like crazy. Our daughter seems comfortable in it (she's eight months), however despite the extra work in side impact protection I don't feel that this seat would be very safe in an accident due to the way it installs. We're taking it to our local fire department to see if they have any suggestions, but to be quite honest we're most likely taking it back.
