Product Description

Enfamil D-Vi-Sol Vitamin Drops are Vitamin D supplement drops, essential for all breastfed infants. The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) recommends using a vitamin D supplement for exclusively and partially breastfed babies because of low average levels of vitamin D in breast milk, your baby's doctor may recommend Enfamil D-Vi-Sol drops.

Founded over 100 years ago by Edward Mead Johnson, one of the original founders of Johnson and Johnson, the Mead Johnson company produces more than 70 different products that are distributed in over 50 countries worldwide. Mead Johnson produces baby formula, vitamin and specialty nutritional supplements including Enfamil. Introduced in 1959, Enfamil baby formula has undergone several significant changes since it was invented. Each change brings Enfamil baby formula nutritionally closer to breast milk.

Edward Mead founded Mead Johnson because he wanted to make products to help people live healthier lives. After much research, Edward Mead and his son Lambert discovered a way to manufacture nutrient-rich baby food formula for infants who didnt have access to breast milk. This eventually became Enfamil baby formula.

Mead Johnson's global operations center and U.S. regional office is located in Evansville, Indiana.

Great Product! My daughter's pediatrician suggested this since I am exclusively breast feeding her. I have been giving it to her since she was 1 week old, and I have absolutely no complaints. She loves the taste, and it doesn't stain. Would definitely recommend if you are exclusively breast feeding.

I used this for my exclusively breastfed baby because it was recommended by her doctor. I was happy to give her these drops because my daughter never seemed to mind the taste. However, I just read the ingredients on the bottle and I am EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED!!! It contains Artificial Ingredients and Artificial Coloring... and Preservatives. I chose to breastfeed my daughter because I wanted her to have the best nutrition possible. I feel the D-Vi-Sol has interfered with my efforts (I now have to live with the fact that for 5 months straight my daughter was fed Glycerin, Polysorbate 80, Citric Acid, Sodium Citrate, Sodium Hydroxide, Artificial Flavor, Artificial Caramel Color). Never again will I trust the opinion of the Dr. without checking it out for myself. How can this be #1 recommended brand? I will now be purchasing vitamin D drops without any of these unnecessary chemicals. I hope to see this change in the future for Enfamil, but until then I will no longer be a customer

I purchased this product on Dr. Recommendation for Vitamin D drops for my baby...but upon reading the label noticed that it has artificial flavor AND color...what?? Why of all things do drops for a newborn need to contain artificial color?? Sounds like a science experiment! Please revise your ingredient list!

The same day we began using this product our newborn became gassy, cried, would not sleep and seemed very uncomfortable when having bowel movements. If we skipped a day he returned to normal. When we discontinued entirely, those behaviors did not return.

My daughter is 12 weeks old. We started using this when she was 2wks because our pediatrician told us to. From the 1st day my daughter has gobbled up the supplement with out a problem. I haven't experienced any constipation or tummy troubles that I can attribute to this product. My baby is a happy, healthy baby who seems to be meeting all her milestones. Unlike with previous reviewers, as of her 2month doctor's visit she is gaining weight and sleeping appropriately for her age. I am surprised to see that it does contain artificial ingredients which are unnecessary. I may look in to switching to something more natural but honestly it is not a priority for me as we have not had any adverse reactions using it.

We are breast feeding our newborn and were advised to give supplemental vitamin D. Baby was absolutely perfect, sleeping and eating, not fussy at all. Began giving D Vi Sol. Had two horrible nights in a row where baby was in obvious pain, curling up, head thrown back, screaming bloody murder for HOURS! Forgot to dose on third day, baby slept normally, just waking to feed. Dosed on the fourth day, then realized that baby's pain and fussiness was following the D Vi Sol doses. Prepared for another bad night. Sure enough, within 20 minutes, baby began twisting in pain and screaming again - for HOURS! PLEASE do not use this brand with your baby!!! There are other brands that do not cause any side effects. Enfamil, please do something about this product!!

I have two previous children that I was unaware this product existed and they were exclusively breastfed. The navy hospital issued these drops to me as part of my discharge medications when I had my twins a week ago. It's good to know that my babies are getting the vitamin d they need. I do not mind the artificial stuff as much as some of these other moms. A lot of the food we eat has artificial items and you cannot guarantee to me that some of it is not in the breast milk. The only thing I didn't like was one twin seemed to start spitting up after not having an issue while in the hospital. They both take it from the dropper without issue.

We have been using these drops for our baby since he was 4 weeks old, as recommended by our pediatrician. We were surprised he likes its taste, so we do not have any trouble giving it to him. However, as it contains artificial colors and flavors, we are looking for another, more organic product.
