The Fisher-Price Zen Collection Cradle Swing lets your baby relax in comfort and luxury. The swing surrounds your baby in softness with supple fabrics, relaxing music and the gentle motion of the mobile. Fourteen soothing songs and two nature soundtracks envelop your baby with harmony as the moving mobile toys offer visual stimulation. The swing can rock side-to-side or front-to-back, entertaining your baby at either of two reclining points and variable speeds. The three-point harness securely holds the baby in place while the fluid swinging motion rocks them to sleep. For you, the function is two-fold because the plush seat is removable with convenient wood handles that let you take the baby from room to room. Remove the machine-washable seat pad, pillow and attached blankets for easy cleaning and upkeep. The swing can operate on battery power alone or be plugged in to save money on costly replacements.

I came across this swing because it matched the bassinet i wanted, both of which are a part of the Zen Collection. I liked that it was a bouncer and swing in one, and the swing can rock either back and forth or side to side. I read plenty of reviews on this [i was deciding between this and one that matched the pack-n-play.]

The swing is gorgeous in my opinion. I love how the green pops against the brown and beige. It is gender neutral, save for a burgandy bow on the built in blanket. I didnt realize it had a built in blanket until reading the reviews, and it is definitely a plus. it is soft and warm, and baby's arms can go in or out in a wrapped fashion. The swing is easy to move. The legs fold together to make it easier to move. The bouncer just lifts off and is very light. All you have to do is set it back into the base and hear it click and it's back to a swing. In order to change direction just take the handles and turn until you hear it click. It isn't difficult and doesnt take a lot of force. You can also lift the seat just a bit and turn if that works better for you. The music on the swing is nice. It isn't as "clunky" sounding as most music, and its even better than the music on the bassinet in the collection. My daughter loves being in her swing, and it is great when she is tired - she can be rocked to sleep.

The minor flaws for me would be the mobile, the sound of the swing, and the recline position. Again, these are very minor for me. The first thing my daughter saw when in the swing was the mobile. She loves it. It would be great if the mobile moved on it's own. I get that it's a swing and the movement from the baby and the swing should move the mobile, but it doesn't move enough to me. Also, the sound that the swing makes when in motion. When i first heard it, it was a bit annoying, but after a moment I tuned it out and hardly noticed it. One thing I will say is start the swing on the lowest setting first. It tends to swing pretty fast. The bouncer has two positons, but both seem rather laid back. it would be awesome if it sat up more.

One of the reviews I read stated that when assembling the swing, there are parts that you can accidentally put on backwards because they look the same if assembled correctly, and the pieces lock into place. Also, the same review said that there is white foam on two pieces of the metal frame that aren't to be removed for safety reasons. The review stated that it clashed with the color scheme, but the fabric covers it, so you don't even know it is there after assembly. My husband, who put the swing together, stated that he didn't notice any parts that could accidentally be put in wrong; there is a bar that prevents the legs from being put together wrong. Assembley was rather easy and pretty straight forward.

Another review stated that the warning labels are in the front and is just blatently orange and in your face. I see the warning labels, but it isn't something that is so distracting that it takes away from the swing.

Its also wonderful how the seat can be made to change direction. Both operations described above are super easy, one movement.But the swing is not perfect. its very big, our first one broke after a week, the music did not play and we had to send certain parts back to fisher price. [...]. Also, the toy on top of the swing, does not move, it just hangs there. Finally, i found that even the first bar on the swing, which is supposed to move the swing side to side just a bit, makes is swing quiet fast, too fast for an infant, in my opinion.

I read through so many reviews on swings before committing to this one and I have no regrets. It may be large but for what it does I have no problem with its size. For those of you whom are concerned about whether or not larger babies may slow down or not be ideal for this swing I have to disagree. I had a preemie baby who weighed 9lbs and is now easily 15lbs and I have not noticed a single change in functionality since the first time we used it. My baby falls sound asleep in this swing and he enjoys the mobile very much. I don't think I could live without it :)

Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

great colors very pretty. could of been a great swing if they put a little more function into it... like moving mobile with a mirror or lights. My biggest complaint is the seat... it looks big and roomy but there is these bars underneath that bunch up my baby and when I got her swaddled it is pushing into each arm. I will be returing this swing because it is just not comfortable for my girl:(

    When we began shopping for baby products back in 2009 for our son I loved the look of this item. We couldn't wait to get it set up when we received it for our baby shower. The item was fairly simple to assemble and I was very satisfied with the product quality. Once completely assembeled it was a nice fit to our living room, as that is where we would spend most of our time. My son hated the bassinet and for a period of time this was the only place he would sleep. Being the seat was detachable made it much easier for him to sleep comfortably on the side of our bed. The only downfall for me was that the detachable seat didn't vibrate. That is really the only feature I would have added. We would buy this product again, as a matter of fact we also own the high chair and for the baby that I am currently carrying we will be purchasing the bouncer.

      This is a great swing! I love how easy it is to pick it up just the seat part and take it to another room. The fact that it plugs in is probably the BEST feature. I will never buy another swing that takes only batteries. It looks very good in the living room with the dark brown colors. Sturdy and well made. The music selections are not annoying. My daughter loves it! I would love to see Fisher Price come out with a swing like this that has a higher weight limit. My daughter is only 13 1/2 pounds at 10 months old but she has many special needs and will need equipment for her entire life. It would be so nice for these companies to offer the same type of look/luxury in a swing for heavier special needs children instead of the boring/ugly ones through therapy that are crazy expensive.
