It was very easy to put together. Its very beautiful build and color, although we purchased this crib in the color "coffee" not cherry. I am 5'0 and reviewed lots of cribs before purchasing. I heard lots of comments from people my height saying they had a hard time reaching over normal cribs. With the front piece being around 2inches lower, it isnt difficult for me to get my son. However, we do still have the mattress on the highest level. It also does come with the toddler rail which we havent converted yet but seems it would be pretty simple to do. Good product for the money and seems very sturdy!

Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

I just brought home the Da Vinci Thompson Crib and was so excited that I had to put it together without my husband. It took me no time and it was easy. I brought it on black friday on sale but it is worth the money. This is my first child and I know she is going to love her crib. I would reccommend this crib to all my friends.

This crib is has a cherry finish, which was my mistake in not reading the description. Just putting it together scratched off bits of the finish. There were no caps to put in the several screw holes making the bed look shabby. I couldn't see that when I shopped, since it was only available online. The rails are flimsy, and some of the screw holes aren't deep enough for the screws.

Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

The product is very nice and sturdy but it has too many nicks in the wood. Luckily the major ones where in the back so it will not be seen. We could take it back but it would be too much of a hassel and I would guess the next bed will be the same and I don't want to risk the nicks being in the front versus the back. I will also call and see if I can get those specific pieces replaced. I really like the conversion to the toddler bed and it looks very nice. We bought this crib since my first crib was recalled and my son is now two so we are using the toddler bed first.

Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
