We installed this gate in the doorway to the nursery to keep our cat out. It was hard to find a gate tall enough that the cat couldn't jump over it, but this one does the trick. It was easy to install. I like that it automatically closes behind you, so that you don't have to doublecheck that its closed.

my parents got a rambunctious new pup and my sweet italian greyhound needs some space sometimes. so we got this gate because i was tired of stepping over the cheapy wood one we had before. i really like it as it seems sturdy, was easy to install, is easy to open, closes automatically, and was a pretty good value (except that the shipping made it $20 more than the list price and they don't sell it in stores). the only problems i see are these: you need a free hand to open it and walk through. so if you have a dog or a baby in your hands or a cup of coffee and your computer, you have to put something down to open it. that's way inconvenient for busy moms. additionally, it is awesome that it closes automatically after you walk through, but there should be a way to keep it open if you need to. again, when i am coming in and out with laundry in my arms, it's very inconvenient. and unlike the cheapy wood one from before, you can't just easily remove it from the doorway if you don't need it. also, my door doesn't close completely now becasue the doorhandle hits the gate. i think i will be able to fix the problem by moving the gate more toward the hallway in the doorjam, but then the contact points where the gate is touching the jam are not completely in contact with the jam. in other words, i think it will not be as securely fit in the doorway and that could be dangerous for a determined 2 year old if not my 15 pound furball. overall, i really do thing it's a good gate for the price. these are just little inconveniences you will always have when you are setting up roadblocks in your home.

My one and only complaint about this product is that one of the gates we got came with some scratches on it. But they are hardly noticeable. The gates are easy to use, and I love how tall they are, no bending to open them! They seem very sturdy and durable. And they look nice. It was very worth it to get them. If we ever need another baby gate we will be getting this kind again.

I like the style of this gate. It is very easy to install. I would recommend screwing in the sides instead of just using the tension screws if it is going to be up long term.
My only complaint about the gate is the latch at the top is plastic and has the potential to break easily if slammed too hard.

We use the gate to keep our new puppy in the back room. It was easy to install, is very strong, tall and keeps him where is suppost to be.

The gate is exactly what I wanted. My son and daughter in law have 2 of them and that's where I saw them and liked them. I presently use the gate for my dogs and cats to keep them separated especially when they are eating.

I decided to put a gate on the children's room so that our three dogs would not go into their room. I looked at many gates and finally decided on this one because of the reviews but also because it was extra tall. We're foster parents and have had many children through our home. We have had it for 6 months now and it's still going strong. In that time we have had a two and three year old who have not been able to open the gate and a five and six year old who could. So far every agency worker who has come by has commented on what a nice gate it is. I am buying a second one for another bedroom.

We purchased this extra tall baby gate only 3 weeks after adopting a new cat. We wanted to take our new kitty out of his "safe room", but still keep him separate from our resident cat. This gate worked beautifully for this purpose.

We placed the gate at the top of our stairs to the 2nd floor. When we attempted to place it at the bottom of the stairwell, the kitty jumped right over - but the extra height on the top of the stairs solved this issue. Installing the gate helped the 2 cats meet at the gate, but maintain their separate, safe areas in the introduction process. Because this model has a double-swing door, we simple opened the gate as we entered/exited the 2nd floor.

The bars are narrow enough that the cats cannot go through the gate. The great thing about the vertical bars are that the cats could not climb the gate. (This happened with the first gate we purchased from a competitor with a criss-cross pattern.)

We did have 1 incident where the new cat jumped over the gate. That was a night when we had friends over & their baby started crying loudly. I think this scared the new cat & he got "super power" to jump the fence in his "fight or flight" mode of escaping from the loud cries of the baby.

The 2 cats are now successfully intermingled & sharing space, but we have decided to keep the gate up. This will allow us to place our kitties upstairs whenever we have company so they are not stressed out by visitors.

I love this gate so much that I just purchased a 2nd one which I am giving to a friend as a baby gift. My friend also has kitties & I'm sure she will find this gate as useful as we do (or more so) for use with her baby & kitties.
