I bought this set for my son in blue/green. After already owning the silverware and loving them, I got this set because of the plate. It works great and really helps my son self feed. The only issue is, after 1 day of ownership, the white suction cup ring got stained with spaghetti sauce very badly. Also the suction doesn't hold. I had read the reviews before buying and knew about the suction not holding, and wasn't bothered by this fact, because my son doesn't throw his plate, but I am mad at the fact that it looks so bad, after 1 day of use. They should have made the suction piece removable, or use a different non staining rubber.

I bought this for my 2 1/2 year old son who has Sensory Processing Disorder and Apraxia. He was able to eat on his own for the first time as the food didn't fall off the plate, and the fork was wide enough of a grip. He doesn't like to touch "wet" food so this was a huge change for us. He usually only eats finger foods.

i bought this bowl for my 9m old. just for him to learn how to eat finger food from a bowl, but as soon as he grabbed it, he pulled it right of the table even though its supposed to suction to the table. so idk i mean is still use it as a regular bowl but it dosent work like i thought i would

I just bought this set yesterday and wish I had seen these reviews first. My son immediately figured out how to pull the plate off and all of his food went on the floor. I am contacting the company. The spoon and fork are ok. Big disappointment!

As other posters have said, the suction does not work, but this plate really helped my son understand how to use a spoon (scoop son, scoooooop). The curved sides of the bowl are great and the suction thing helps to keep the bowl from sliding. I do have to keep moving food around so he can see it, but he loves to be independant and this helps him to feed himself.

Sure, I would like the suction to work so I took off a star because sometimes when he has decided he is finished, he wants to dump the entire thing over the side of the highchair and suction would be a lifesaver then.

I am not using the fork and spoon until he is older since he likes to bang things against his teeth but they are cute.

I think this is a great product. Great for self feeding. I dont understand why its getting such bad ratings. It does everything I need in a self feeding plate prevents the toddler from picking it up off the table or shoving it off to the side and when he manages to pick it up off the table its noticed and there are no surprises like with regular plates. Also the domed sides helps keep everything much cleaner. keeps the food in the plate better then a regular plate. I really recommend this product

Agree with the other poster...the suction does NOT work. I was trying to find something that my daughter couldn't just turn over (which is what she does and why I needed the suction in the first place) This set isn't it. Cute fork and spoon though. She prefers to use the plate and rubber suction as a toy so I guess it get some use...

The plate on this set is terrible - the suction cup never worked, and simply pops off. The rim of the bowl (which I'm assuming is supposed to keep messy food on the plate) makes it so that my son's food get stuck up under it and he gets frustrated because he can't get his food out. The only thing that I actually like about this set is the fork - it is not good for everyday use, but it is great for picking up speghetti.

My first love is the fork, my 14 month old live in grandaughter likes forks and this one has safety edges so she does not spear herself. It is true the suction doesn't work well - I have not found one that does. The suction ring can come off and I use it that way most of the time. The scooping edge on tghe bowl works well. easy to clean - use it so much over the other plates we have for her that I'm getting another for when our current on is in dishwasher.

My boyfriend has a 2 1/2 year old that we bought this product for. We like it. The edge that goes around the top really helps him scoop his food and suction helps him to scoop the food without the bowl going on the floor or sliding all over the table. I think that's the whole purpose of the suction, to keep the bowl on the table in one spot while he/she is trying to eat... not to keep the child from deliberately picking it up and throwing it on the floor.
