I new what to expect of this purchase because of the other reviews, but it is what my daughter wanted for her 9th birthday. I think that for the $ it should come with something aside from 2 lights that light up. It is easy to assemble and very sturdy , but very plain otherwise. Stickers that could be wall paper would have been nice, or perhaps faux curtains, but alas it is just a house

As darling as this house looks, it does not function well. The lights are the cutest part. The stairs, porch/green space, the the open-close mechanism all need serious redesign. This is not a good value.
It became frustrating and then downright disappointing for the two little sister grandies. And when the adults tried to take a look, they became equally frustrated with the hinge that would not stay engaged, the stairs that kept falling away and the porch platform . . .we all just gave up on that.
My two grandies reverted to using their favorite 1990 vintage Fisher Price Loving Family house, playing with the Calico Critters and their Critter furnishings. Need I say more?

My daughter saw a Calico Critters commercial on the television and after browsing online I thought the Luxury Townhouse would make a great 3rd birthday gift. I was wrong.The images online show a home with decorated walls, critters and furniture galore. While I knew that the critters and furniture were sold separately, I didn't know that the cute wallpapered walls were just for show. I didn't know that I was spending [$] on bare, stark play home without a single feature. After assembly my toddler looked at the house then at me and said, "It's kind of boring". Indeed it is.

Love the product. Sturdy construction and easy to assemble. Great variety of furniture and downloadable wallpaper from calicocritters.com. Shows just as nice as a wooden dollhouse! Love the lights, fireplace and tv. Just pop in the batteries and you are in business.

We bought this for our 3 year old daughter. The display had curtains and wallpaper. This made the product look fancy and convinced me even more to buy it.However when my daughter opened her christmas present not only she received a surprise but I did too.The house looked naked empty plain and small.If you want wallpaper download it from the internet because it's not there. If you want curtains make them yourself because they're not there.I thought the house was going to be pretty big for the price it was.It wasn't ,like i said this was very small.I was hoping for it to be at least a carry and case. The latches and handles were nowhere to be found.

I bought this house for my daughter last year for x-mas. When I received it I was disappointed in the size of the rooms and there wasn't any wall paper as pictured. However it has held up well. It still looks like new and has been played with alot. So over all I would have to give the product 5 stars. And because of the surprising durability of Calico Critters items and the fact my daughter still loves to play with it, I am purchasing more Calico Critters things for her this year

Bought this for my 8 year old granddaughter. First, I'm not sure where this house came from, since the only houses on the shelves were the bigger more expensive houses, which is what I thought I was getting for [$]; however, when I got the register, the house rang up at [$] plus tax. I was told that the house I had was not the house that is [$]. The clerk then went to the back and returned with the actual [$] house. Funny thing is the house the clerk returned with was not located anywhere on the shelves. I bought is anyway, very disappointed that what you get is an empty house, and the pieces are WAY overpriced. I plan to return this house. I do not recommend this product.
