The Beaba Babycook is a compact countertop appliance that functions as a steamer, blender, warmer and defroster to prepare fresh, healthy meals for baby. The Babycook steam-cooks vegetables, fruits and meats in less than 15 minutes while preserving natural vitamins and flavors. It's so easy to use. Don't be intimidated.
* I put the same amount of water in each time.
* Put frozen and/or fresh foods in basket... whatever you are eating, baby can eat.
* It takes exactly 22 minutes to steam... I set my microwave timer and go off to do other things.
* It shuts itself off. I take out the food.
* If I want it to blend it... I do. Adding more of the water that steamed the food makes for smoother food. If I just want it mushy for finger food, I take it out.

Great things
* I like that it's everything in one spot. I don't have to carry the food all over my kitchen to prepare the food.
* The blender/blade is powerful. You do have to manually hold it but, it takes no time. If it seems to be taking minutes... you need to add more water.
* The blender sound is not too loud or annoying... doesn't scare my little one.
* It's predictable... I know it always takes 22 minutes to steam. In the meantime, I can be doing other things.
* Easy to clean! Love the design. Cheerful without being cute. Compact, light yet powerful.
* I know I'll use it even after I don't need to make baby food... I don't own another food processor.

Not so great
* takes some wiggling to get the container part on the base but, you just have to remember it goes in facing a certain direction you do that everytime.

I am stay at home mom and I was very excited when my LO started on solids because I was excited about making her food. When I received my Beaba Babycook I was even more excited. After using it one time I was not so impressed.

The pros for me:
Easy to set up
Compact size doesn't take up much counter space
Steams food quickly

The cons for me:
knowing how much water to use (there are three levels and the directions only tell you for some basic foods which level to fill to)Plus I still had to add a little more while blending to get it to blend to a good consistency.

Transferring the food from the steaming basket to the blending bowl (I only used it once and about burnt my hand with the steam, this is just not a good idea/design)The little spoon they give you just makes it harder and you have to use it because it is the handle for the steamer basket

The biggest thing that made me return this was when it came to blending, they don't tell you that to blend your babies food to the "perfect consistency" that you have to stand there and hold the knob over to the blend function. And although the motor is very quiet while blending it also very SLOW and takes a LONG time to blend. I was making sweet potatoes which are very soft and easy to blend and it probably took me 5 minutes of holding that knob. Now if you have an older baby that doesn't need thin purees it might not be so bad but it annoyed me for just those few minutes. I think for the price the babyfood maker should do it by itself.

In the end the food turned out, but it sure took a lot longer than the advertised 15 minutes and for me the cons and design flaws do not make up for the convenience of the steam function. I returned mine and bought the new baby brezza instead.

Being first time parents we wanted to do everything ourselves. We took on the challenge to make our own baby food. This product makes everything so easy!

Well worth the extra bucks.

My friend is also making her own baby food and does not have the beaba and wishes she does. He uses to much stuff to make food. With the beaba you only have to clean the beaba and of course the cutting board and knives, versus pans ect

I can't comment on how well this thing cooks or blends food, because the gasket on the bottom doesn't seal and water is leaking everywhere. The directions are terrible, and I was frustrated that I wasted so much time figuring out how to put it together just to have it leak. Don't waste your time or your money.

My brother got me this for Christmas. I registered for it and expected it to be good, but I had no idea it really was going to be this amazing!

It steams within resonable time. It's cool because I just leave it steaming and it will shut off by itself (the time it steams depends on how much water you put in).

Blending is so easy. I will put the steamed fruits or veggies in the water they were steamed in. Then I'll add a little breastmilk or prune juice. You do have to hold the nob when blending or it will shut off, but big woopty doo! It only takes a minute or so for the tougher veggies.

As far as cleaning. The most difficult part is taking the blade off, and even that is easy! I have yet to cut myself. Once that blade is off though, it can all be thrown in the dishwasher!

The thing I love most about this is I can buy an organic sweet potato and make 8 servings (2oz each) and it only cost me about $1! In the long run you will be saving money, and you don't have to worry as much about food recalls! I love my beaba baby food maker. I really do have fun making my daughters food and she loves eating it!

i bought this because i want my baby to have a healthy, fresh food as much as possible. it's easy to use and the steamer part is the best. but it is also difficult to clean esp. the blade in the bottom. i cut myself twice in the process. however my baby doesn't seem to like the texture as he was used to eating from the commercial-made baby food. i returned it.

I bought this product for my first son about 1.5 yrs ago and loved it then... Absolutely amazing product.. At first!!!! Now that I need it for my second baby boy when I took it out of the box and looked in the water reservoir there's white lime build up inside and so hard to remove. There's no way to really clean it in there. .if it doesn't come off I'm going to have to throw it out....i did leave it overnight with half vinegar and half water but no luck removing the lime...I called beaba customer service and they told me to completely fill it up with vinegar and leave it overnight... so I'm trying that.. So it's great when you first get it... But be careful it might now be so great when you put it away for awhile and eventually need to use it again.

My mom purchased this for me for christmas and it is great. Less than $15 a month and I have a stockpile of food for my son. Who doesn't love that. I love that it is compact and doesn't take up a lot of counter space. Definitely easy to clean. The fact that it is a all-in-one type deal is great. It eliminates having to use so many different items. Only thing I don't like about it, is that you have to hold the blend dial. It would be much easier to just have buttons with different times. But it doesn't change how much I enjoy using this product!

So far I have made applesauce and green beans for baby. It's so simple! Just put water in the resivoir, turn nob to steam. Takes about 30 minutes to steam. Pulse to emulsify contents and voila! It couldn't be easier and I feel good knowing I'm making healthy, preservative free food for my baby!
