Hello all! As the title says, I think this is a very interesting set. I'll start by looking over the minifigures... Eris: uses the fairly standard (but still highly detailed) fire suit, with the feminine variant of the torso. The red kinda clashes with the white and blue... :/ The head is pretty much the same as before. The weapon is well-designed, but in my opinion, too big! She can't stand on a plain flat surface, even with her wings extended.... All things considered, probably my least favorite minifig in the set, but that doesn't mean it's bad. 8/10 Lagravis: also uses the fire suit, though with the welcome inclusion of a dark red cape (I love capes...!). Same head as before; new fire rod for his fire Valious. 8/10 Strainor: This is a cool figure! (pun intended... :P) He has one transparent leg, and a very interesting, ancient-looking print on his torso. I like how you can sort of see the print, even with the armor on (because it's transparent). His head-piece is very nicely printed, with long fangs, missing skin (ew! :P), and a chain running from his ear to his jaw. Underneath the head-piece, while he does have two expressions, they look almost identical. His weapon looks like a paw, with only two claws coming out of it (but if you want three, there's an extra piece). Definitely my favorite figure in the set. 9/10 On to the set! The ice cage: Eh, just a random texture piece. Not much to it. For what it is? 7/10 The actual flyer: very nice design; with all the technic, I half-expected the build to be slightly tricky, but it was much easier than I expected. When you're setting up the frame in bag 1 though, it can be fairly easy to misplace technic pins on the beams. Watch what you're doing carefully! The finished model was bigger than I expected, even after seeing it in the store display. The transforming function works beautifully: you push the cockpit section forward, and the wings spread, the flames come out like blades, the spring-loaded shooters are moved forward a little, and the claws come forward, as if to grab something. However when it's in its high-speed or landing mode, it won't sit flat on a surface. You'll have to spread the wings a little to get it to perch flat on its feet. For those of you who don't like stickers, the ones on the sides of the head are a bit difficult to place, but the rest were straightforward. The color scheme was kind of odd: you have white, dark blue, and yellow for the eagle, then...dark red. Hm. Not the most elegant color scheme, but it gets the whole fire thing across, I guess. The spring-loaded shooters work really well, much better than flick-missiles (though those do have their place). I thought it would come with an extra bolt, like some sets do, but just two for this one. Oh well, it's an amazing set even without them. Overall build: 9/10 So, to sum it all up: Good points: Beautifully detailed minifigures, interesting (if simple) build, great transforming function, good parts, and, spring-loaded shooters. Bad points: Slightly off color scheme for the main build, Eris can't stand while holding her weapon unless she's on a baseplate, main build can't perch flat on its feet unless the wings are spread slightly. Overall: 9/10 I think that's everything; I was probably a bit scatterbrained, but I hope this was helpful all the same!

Chima is fantastic. LEGO has really re-kindled my love for the mini-fig scale building sets with this franchise. This particular set, Eris' Fire Eagle Flyer, caught my eye. It is a great price point for what you get. The parts come together well, and with plenty of hard-to-find parts and some nice transclucent fire pieces. After building it, I was rather taken aback at how INTRUSIVE the gimmick is. The sliding mechanism that opens/closes the wings works well, but for whatever reason, they felt the need to attach this to the legs. When you open the wings, the GIANT feet and legs swing forward, into the flyers face. You can't place down the ship with the wings open, and when the wings are closed, the feet and tail section barely make contact with the ground. Largely the set looks fantastic, and feels sturdy. It comes with several Minifigs and a small landscape piece, which is used to trap one of the minifigs.

This set is good. How good we will see. Pros: The fire minifigs Nice detail on the ice terrain piece The spring missile launcher ! ( i absolutely love these pieces) The new claw weapon Eris's weapon The hard cape( I just like the hard capes) The simplistic but elegant head. Two fire chi The color scheme(Although it clashes somewhat, it somehow manages to look very nice) Looks like an eagle The stickers( you won't hear me say this often so savor it) The detail on the flyer Fire mode Blue chi crystal Cons: Very skeletal, especially in the legs and wings Strainor, they have overused him to death The claw weapon (although a pro, they have used this too much so it is both) Standing up the flyer. a thing that you can do is take the back talons and put them down, then it will stand straight up ( only in normal mode) Lagravis's fire sword (Laval has the same sword) The console piece is facing forward, not near eris Bright blue pins All in all i love this set. Originally i just bought it to complete my collection, but the more i played with it the more i liked it.

This is my first Legends of Chima set, I tend to lean for speedorz as my budget is towards other themes. Today I picked up this set. The box art is neat and attractive to the eye and shows off its fabulous features. The set itself is a nice fun build, I rebuild it again and again because its so fun and it keeps you busy. I think the functionality of the Fire Eagle is fantastic and clever :). The figures are great, Eris in her new fire suit looks beautiful, Lagravis in his new suit looks pretty good and Strainor looks incredible. The only negative thing is the colour scheme, its a bit too busy. All in all this set is great value, fun to build and has great figures. I rate this 9/10.

My son loves legos but is picky about the ones he wants. I took him to get ideas for Christmas and this was the only lego he wanted so that made that part easy. Legos are a great toy for kids.... getting them off the video games and using those imaginations.
Son loves it!
