In the early 1940s, a loving father crafted a small, blue, wooden train engine for his son, Christopher. The stories that The Reverend W. Awdry made up to accompany this wonderful toy were first published in 1945. He continued to create new adventures and characters until 1972 when he retired from writing. He died in 1997 at age 85.

Comments about Random House 1008253 Thomas and Friends: Little Golden Book Favorites:

The Little Golden book doesn't let you down with this book. It has three stories in it and my son loves all of them. He brings me the book a hundred times and day and tells me to read Thomas! I would love it if they came out with more.
