My husband bought the Playskool Sit 'N Spin for our 3 year old daughter. She loves it, and can spin it on her own. She has had a lot of fun with it and it functions as one would expect. If you are looking for the kind of toy that you remember as a kid, this is not exactly the same. It is a different plastic, and maybe slightly smaller. Based on all the negative reviews I was not going to buy this...but I'm glad my husband did!

I bought this for my 2yr old. I wanted to relive my childhood a little, I loved this as a kid. After putting it together my little girl tried and tried to sit and spin and well she just sat. Way to difficult to turn. We tried to place it on carpet and a hard surface to see if it would work better, nope. It turns but with no glide. It turns like you're turning a tire on a car.

I can't figure out the bad reviews! It was a 2 minute process to assemble. . My granddaughter loves it!! She's 21/2... Yes, it works best on a non- carpeted floor...but... It's as much fun as my own children had 30 years ago!

My son got this for a gift, I remember this as a kid. The changes with this one is they put a braking system on it. It takes a lot of effort for our 3 year old son to get it to spin and the second he lets go it instantly stops. So, it turns into a heave stop. Heave stop. Heave stop. Very much like trying to slide uphill and we all know that isn't any fun. It's impossible to do hand over hand, build momentum, nor hang on for the ride as it spins down with the friction system it uses. Our child has no fun with this, we have to coax him into using it and after 30 seconds he's done wondering why bother. So it's just as fun as sliding uphill, not too fun and that's exactly what our kid(s) have found. The old ones that spun, were fun. If you think sliding downhill is fun and trying to slide uphill isn't then get a used old one from the 70's or 80's. This is also much smaller than they used to be, our 3 year old hardly fits on it.

After first setting it up and trying to use it on the carpet. Our 19 month old couldn't even get it to work. We thought it was either faulty or just a poorly made toy.

So I hopped on here to read reviews. At first I thought my suspicions were correct, and it was just a bad toy,

Then after reading other reviews that liked the product I decided to try it out on out linoleum floor.

He still couldn't use it at first. But I had him hold onto the wheel and spun him around myself a few times. Let go, and BAM. He was doing it himself.

Your child has to turn themselves. The part they sit on spins, not the wheel. Like the tea cups at an amusement park.

Wish it worked better on carpet. Could probably lay down cardboard.

Anyhow he loves it now.

I had something like this when I was a kid but it actually spun! This has too much friction to really get a good spin. Plus for a 3 year old who doesn't have a ton of upper body strenght, she couldn't spin herself at all. Not made like it used to be. Pass on this one.

i bought this product for my 5 year old who is 55+ lbs, she loves it and really gets it going, no it doesnt do good on carpet but she plays it on the hard floor in our house. and it is a little small but she is still able to sit on it and use it at 55 lbs, maybe others kids dont know how to get it going, but she loves it. they have a bunch of these at her preschool and shes always playing on it when i get there which is what made me want to get it.

My DS loves this toy. Once he got the hang of it there was no stopping him. He enjoys it a lot. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because sometimes he would step onto it and fall. :-/ But that happens with all toys if they are out on the floor.
