Trash Can does not adhere to lift so that when trash can is lifted into hopper the can falls out into the hopper. It does not stay connected so that trash can is able to be lowered down. Terrible design! The whole purpose of a toy garbage truck is to be able to raise and dump and then lower the trash container. The container does not stay on the lift.

      What a great toy for the "all'boy" type. My son loves trash trucks and received this as a gift for his 2nd birthday. He is in LOVE with it. Hours and hours of entertainment for him. The sounds are real to life and the lever is fun to move up and down. He loads the trash can, raised it to dump into the truck, then opens the back and takes it out just to start the process over and over again. Careful though, the gears easily strip and stop working if you keep pushing it up or down and let it click. That is the only reason I did not give it a perfect 5 star score.

        Wonderful product. Great price. We did have to alter the garbage can to make it work properly. The fittings are incorrect which may cause frustration. (Ok, well, for the parent playing with child) LOL! Otherwise, an excellent gift idea for children that love to play with garbage trucks.

          Got this for Christmas for my just turned 5yr old. Initially ordered the Tonka Motorized Side Loader Garbage Truck, but was sent the wrong one! Luckily I also ordered this truck as well (knowing that I could do a store return). After reading reviews for both the trucks (Tonka & Fast Lane), I was glad to give my 5yr old the Fast Lane. He was thrilled upon opening his gift! He has extensively played with it for two days as well as sharing it with other family members. So far no mechanical breakdowns with the truck. Considering the price between the Fast Lane & Tonka Side Loaders...the Fast Lane Side Loader seems to be a better deal. The only downside, if any is that it only comes with one rubbish bin.

            This was my son's favorite toy while it lasted, but we've now gone through two of them and will not be buying a third. The arm that holds the garbage bin has snapped off during regular play. Neither time have we seen it happen but we think he must have had trouble getting the bin off the arm and twisted it. The mechanism that allows the truck to dump out its content also broke within a few days of buying it.

            As a side note, our son also took one of them in a sandbox and sand got inside the mechanism and was impossible to clean out and get working properly. This is our fault but should be noted that this is definitely not an outdoor toy.

              I purchased this garbage truck for grandsons in two different families. Not only did it entertain the two and three year old boys for hours, but their older siblings couldn't wait to "help" their brothers, showing them the lights, how to work the pick-up device, etc. I am sure we will have to replace the batteries soon because these trucks have been used so much already. I worried that the plastic parts would break easily, but so far they have held up under hours of use. Thanks for creating a great toy!

                This little truck is even more than we expected! With our Grandson's 2nd birthday right around the corner, finding a toy garbage truck was paramount. First choice to look is always ToysRUs, and as always, it did not fail to provide exactly what we're looking for! This little truck is darling (sorry, I'm a girl :) but considering it's moving parts and that it makes the noises of a real garbage truck make this a perfect choice. He loves rushing outside every Monday morning to watch the "Up-UP Truck" and listening for the "K-ewww!" sound of the cans as they dump the trash. This truck is so great that we bought him an additional truck for his toybox at home. Everyone who has seen his excitement on "garbage day" (and actually, all the days inbetween, being he pretty much calls any kind of truck an "Up-Up" now) cannot WAIT to see his reaction when he opens his very own toy garbage truck on his birthday! Thanks a million.

                  My son loves this toy! He played with it for 2 hours straight the day we brought it home. 1 year later it is still his favorite toy everything still works and we have all of the pieces. We have changed the batteries twice so you can tell he plays with it a lot!
