Badger Basket's Barrel Top Toy Chest measures 31" L by 17" D by 19" H. Attractive styling has a "treasure chest" look - perfect as a place for storing special toys and stuffed animals. Also great as easily accessible storage for baby blankets and bedding. Quality hardware with safety support hinge. Lid opens fully, and will also stay open in any partially open position. The safety hinge secures the lid in the open position so it won't slam shut on your child. Made with wood, engineered wood, and veneers. Bottom panel is made with engineered wood hardboard. Finish is non-toxic. Built to last for years. Easy to assemble with a screwdriver. Illustrated instructions included.

The product itself appears to be decent, but the bottom of the toy box is made of the thinnest particle bored I've ever seen. Paper thin and that's probably why it arrived with a split corner. It can not hold much; so is pointless as a toy box.

Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

The chest is made of cheap, soft wood that scratches easily. I don't think it will look nice for long. The screw holes weren't drilled in the correct places (spacing incorrect for hinges) so I had to make new holes. The wood is so soft that I was able to do it with just a screwdriver, no drill required. I like the look of the product but don't think it was worth the price.

Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

It's just paint!

The size is perfect and that's about it. As far as the color, it's just painted dark brown, not a 'true espresso' as the 1st review said. We bought it thinking it would match our son's furniture set, which we purchased from Babies r Us, but it doesn't match because his furniture set is actually stained a true espresso. If we had known that this product was painted & not stained, we would have never bought it. [...] The hinges are already coming loose just from the few times we opened and closed the lid to put toys in. If you like the look of this box, just admire the picture because it is nicer in the picture than it is in person. Don't waste your money.

Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

I love this toy chest. It is a true espresso which matches the rest of my daughter's furniture. The chest also closes very gently and stays open till it is pushed down. These characteristics make it very safe for children. Another reason why I love this toy chest is because it is not kid colored so my daughter will be able to use it as storage into her teen years.[...] it is perfect. Such a great buy.
