This helicopter is a little too environmentally sensitive! The ceiling fan and even the air conditioner will keep it from lifting off the ground. It spends most of it's time spinning around in circles about an inch from the floor. I would not make this purchase again!

I started with no experience flying remote control heli's and after about a day of practice, probably 10 flights I have pretty good control over the heli. I race my roommate with his heli with no problem. I bought this thinking it was going to break easily so I bought the warranty but I found that I dont really need it because I have abused this thing to no extent. I have dropped it from 30+feet 3 times and it still flies perfectly and the only damage is cosmetic. I would not recommend this to someone who wants something to just take out of the box and master flying. It takes practice.

This model was on sale [$] before Thanksgiving. I purchased one that had control problems...returned and replacement works pretty well. Have been using my Havoc several months (30+ flights)carefully, once with nephew and brother-in-law without damage. Decided to buy a bunch for friends and family. The wing-type (not thin wire-type)landing gear got better reviews for durability, so that's the only type I bought. This style also has mid-body fin that slides forward and backward but this seems to have little effect on flight attitude. Since starting this hobby, have purchased several other brands since my Havoc heli but the Havoc seems to take the most crashes (especially the propeller/rotor)without damage. Used both inside and out (on wind-free cloudy days). Stick to grassy fields and avoid flying near trees or cement. Control with 2 channel infrared helis is limited but still fun. Since controllers can be set to channel A, B, or C, but Helicopters themselves are fixed to one channel, be careful to purchase helis set to different channels (box is labeled) if you want to fly with others. Got about 10-12 minutes of flight per charge...better than other brands.

Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
