I started using these nipples for my son at about 15 months of age since he hasn't quite yet got the sippy cup thing down yet(I know he's a bit behind in this.) But I'm very thankful these exist because he has outgrown the level 3 nipples. I haven't had any of the problems mentioned in some of the other reviews. They've been great, but I can imagine if I had started using them at a very young age, they'd have probably been too big & too fast, but are great for my older baby. I just use them for formula, not cereal.

My twins were born premature and had some reflux issues that prevented them from sleeping well so we made the decision to add rice cereal to their bed time bottles. These nipples work perfectly! The kids do end up with a bit of a mess on their chin, but they usually do that anyway.

The X design is great, especially for thicker formulas (such as when cereal is added to it), but the nipple itself is very large! My daughter has a small mouth and cannot use these. I had to buy the slow flow nipples and make the holes bigger.
These are okay for larger babies, but smaller babies or those with smaller mouths cannot use them successfully. My daughter choked like crazy when I tried to use one of these to feed her milk with rice cereal added to it because she could not close her mouth around it.

We tried these nipples following the slow flow nipples in order to try and avoid buying two more sets (medium and fast flow). My daughter liked them, though she did have a very strong suck. However, after a couple of months, the X on them enlarged to the point of major leaking. All told, they did last us about 3 months before I had to throw them out. Instead of new nipples, we're using more of a sippy now.

With our first child we cut our own holes in the nipples (different brand) and it worked beautifully, but our second wants nothing to do with that brand, so we started trying the X cut of this brand with the cereal. My baby is four months old and has a strong suck and when she's tried the four or five times to use this nipple, she's ended up with formula and cereal all over her and choking on it to boot. I don't recommend this nipple unless you have the time and energy to change a baby's outfit SEVERAL times a day and deal with a frustrated baby that took their bottle too quickly and has air in their tummy as well as a wet chest from all the spilled formula. And never mind that you can't know how much spills, so you're left having to make a second bottle with a different nipple and skip the cereal. In our house it's a small debacle to use this nipple.

I got these because I am using the tommee tippee bottles and I need to add rice to my LO's bottle due to acid reflux (per doc's orders). Well when I tried them my LO got so frustrated because the milk was not coming out. I ended up having to stretch the hole to get the milk out. I'm hoping it works if not I'll go back to using the playtex drop in 'cereal' nipple for her rice bottles

I regret getting these nipples to replace the nipples that originally came with the bottles. Since my baby is teething, she likes bitting on the nipples while she is eating. Because of the "X" shaped whole on the nipple, milk poors out and gets her soaked. I dont know how many outfits I have gone through because of these nipples. After a month of cleaning the nipples, the "X" shaped whole has ripped. Even when I shake the bottle to prepare the formula mike poors out. I am going to rebuy the nipples that originally came with the bottles!

My daughter is now 5 months old and we have been using the "X" nipple for the past 2-3 months. We have to add cereal to her bottle because she was spitting up so bad (this was recommended by our pediatrician). They were a little much without the cereal and when she was about 1-2 months old. They would leak and the formula would drip down my daughter's face. Now they are perfect! Would recommend Tommee Tippee to any mom.

My 3-month old daughter had been spitting up a lot, then not eating much, so the doctor had me add rice cereal to her bottle. These are great. I tried the Y cut Playtex nipples, but the babysitter didn't like them. These are great and the Tommee Tippee line has bottle accessories that make things so much easier for a working, on the go mom.

These nipples are great. They are perfect for my breastfeeding daughter since it has a variable flow. Also really nice if you want to add a little cereal to the bottle.
