My six year old really enjoyed playing this game but everytime we got close to being done a glitch popped up and we had to start over. We even called the games creators and they had no fixes for the problems. Problem one: You get locked out of the Griffindor dorm. Make sure you get all of the items you need out of their as quickly as you can. Problem two: Black lake you can't always get the last house crest. Problem Three: You can't get out of the room with the dragon.

Hope they fix all the glitches one day.

My 8 year old grandson requested this game. He loves it. They play for hours.Even my 11 year old and their friends will sit for hours.Keeps them busy on a hot day.

If you like the earlier Lego games, like Star Wars, Batman, or Indiana Jones, you'll really enjoy this one. The game play is similar but the designers have included the world of Harry Potter to make it much more immersive. Both my 7-year-old and I have had a great time playing the game and comparing it to the books and movies. The more you know about the Potter universe the more quickly you'll catch on to the game play, but even newcomers can jump right in.

My son and I played the Lego Indiana Jones game together a couple of years ago and enjoyed it immensely. When we found out that Harry Potter was doing a Lego version, we were beyond excited, having just finished reading all 7 books! The game meets my expectations, it is hours of fun! BUT, the only reason I don't give it five stars is that I can't let my other son and/or husband play in my stead. You really need to be there every step of the way to understand the "Lessons" (for example the Mandrakes) and the "Spells" or you're just lost. So I'm a tad strict about no one being allowed to use "Game 2" as that is my six year old and my game (I think the other two do a lot of eye rolling!). Otherwise, in the true spirit of the Lego games, this is yet another winner!

Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

I'm a 27 year old woman and play this game with my 6 year old son. I love this game. It's fun and entertaining for both of us! I'd advise if your child is under 10 to get on the co-op with them to help and you won't be bored.

He'll also play the build your own gameboards on his own and will play that for hours!
