    This product was exactly as described and our grandson loves it - BUT we ordered by the deadline to receive it by Christmas and because Toys R US thinks Hawaii is NOT part of the United States we received it on 12/29/12. Not happy about the shipping but the pedal car itself is great!

    This is a beautiful car, I was sure my 3 year old would enjoy. However, it was really hard to put together, and also the wheels are thin so I think when we went up a curb they went out of whack, perhaps this is closer to the 4 or 5 year age.

          My 2 y/o son LOVES LOVES LOVES this firetruck! He plays for it for hours. It really is a great toy and I love the pedals and steering. Very cool.
          That said, I do have some concerns about this toy. First, we took off the ladders (they break apart easily and get in his way) AND we took off the hooks that hold the ladders. In my opinion they are not safe and he doesn't miss them a bit. A kid could poke an eye out or really get hurt on those. On the tailgate (when it is in the down position only) there are sharpish connectors on either side - so we always keep that closed. I do also wish the metal sides were a little more rounded...I am almost considering buying table edge pads to cover the areas where he monkeys around a lot. He is very active and prone to accidents like most 2 y/o boys!

          Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

            I bought this toy for my son because of my childhood memories, I always wanted one but my mom could not afford it so I never even asked her to buy it for me. This is a toy that is beautiful to look at. It seems like it is built to last, so I plan to keep it after my kids outgrow this toy. I bought it for my three year old boy, but my six year old girl really loves this firetruck. I had no problems putting together this toy. I would buy this toy again even if my kids did not like it. I am very satified with my purchase.
