When I first bought gDiapers with my second child I have to admit I was a bit frustrated. Determined to make it work this time, as I have tried at least three other kinds of cloth diapers before gDiapers, I decided to watch a few videos on the gDiapers website about how to properly use them...this helped very much. Now I absolutely love them.

It used to be a pain to get them on right and they would leak. If you know how to insert the liners and properly put on the diaper, this is no longer a problem. I mainly wanted to use the cloth inserts and have found through experience that it is best to use the cloth inserts when at home OR when I am out but can change my baby easily/quickly and mainly use the disposable/compostable inserts when I am out OR when my baby is taking sleeping for an extended period of time. Now I never have a problem with leaking.

It used to be hard for me to wash the cloth inserts and liners but now I rinse them out in the sink with soap and water and then let them soak in warm water and OXyclean in the washer and they come out perfectly white. I try to rinse them right away but as all moms know this is not always possible and nicely enough this doesn't seem to affect them getting clean so much as rinsing and soak does.

I would def. recommend these but will say that ALL cloth diapers takes patience and practice and that this should be kept in mind.

I will also say that the little bit of time you do spend using cloths instead of disposables is absolutely worth it as the positives are many....they are better for the environment, your child won't be "wearing" harsh chemicals that disposables contain and allow to seep into baby's precious skin, they cost less over time, and they are less prone to causing diaper rash if used correctly.

I bought these for my toddler when his Dr suggested I switch to cloth because of sensitivities to disposables. Gdiapers is the only cloth diaper system Babies R Us carries besides Gerber prefolds/ and Gerber Vinyl covers.

Anyway, the Gdiapers (large) were snug on my son's waist( leaving red marks) and he is pretty average for his age. The insert that goes in the Little Gdiaper you have to buy separate. I had to really work hard to get the insert to lay correctly in the diaper. The plastic liner that the insert lays in is a pain.
The velcro in the back is better than velcro in the front when diapering toddlers IMOP . . . but I prefer snaps.
on a positive note: The Gdiaper cloth inserts (made of hemp and cotton) are excellent but pricey.

I've now done my share of research on cloth diapers and found that there is a bunch of different options! I love cloth diapering now and if I would of known all the options out there, I would of cloth diapered my son from the get go. Most of the cloth diaper companies are online and you can find all kinds of reviews on youtube
Here are a few brands to consider: BumGenius/BestBottoms/FuzziBuns/WeeHuggers/GenY/EconoBum
Bummis/ Blueberry . . . also consider natural prefolds/contour with a snappi or pins with diaper covers

Hope this helps!

Comments about gDiapers 1011682 1011682 gDiapers 2-Pack 'little g' Diaper Pant Red/Orange - Small:

We use these for my son, nearly 5 months old, and are about to move up to medium size. W have had a few more pee leaks with the cloth inserts-- you have to be vigilant and change promptly. The disposable inserts are very absorbent; a few weeks ago hubby and I each thought the other had changed the boy and the dipe soaked up so much the insert ruptured and crystals of the absorbent gel were on his skin, but he fabric shell was still dry.

At night a poop cleanup is a bit too complicated for our addled brains, so we use disposables. Out and about we use disposables, too, just less messy stuff to schlep around. But if we use only disposables, after about 3 days my son gets a rash. With the gdiapers, the rash clears right up.

Overall a very good product and good for baby's skin. We have had more poop leaks with disposables than with these.

They do tend to leak sometimes especially if you go too long between diaper changes. Watch the videos at the gdiapers website; they are really helpful. I love mine.

We just had our first baby and we thought we would try them. The fact that you could use reusable and disposable refills was really nice. We figured it was about the same price as using disposables. However, he "explodes" right through the insert about 75% of the time. We may as well just use cloth diapers. We are very dissatisfied and we will not be moving up to the medium sizes!

These diapers leak and they are not as soft as other cloth diapers. Horribly disappointed and a waste of money. It seems like a good concept to have snap in liners so the cloth shell doesn't need to be changed, but the liner allows the insert to become scrunched and the pee leaks out on to the cloth shell and the baby's clothes.

I've been using gdiapers with my 5 week old for a week now and so far my husband and I love them! We have 6 shells and 24 cloth inserts. I don't have many leaks with them (my son will leak in any kind of diaper if we forget to point him down). They are super easy to put on and super easy to wash. I wash the cloth inserts about every day and a half - depending on how often my son eats. My one and only complaint about the diapers is that I have to change the liner almost every time he poops and depending on how often that is, I sometime run out. I am just planning on purchasing more of them to solve this problem... But he hasn't blown out of these yet and he has plenty of times with Pampers and Huggies diapers.

At first, the idea of these diapers was amazing. Both me & mom were so excited to use them. Once I did use them, I wasn't as big of a fan. My daughter is breastfed, which makes her poo a little bit more runny. The minute she would go, it would get all over. It did not stay on the insert, and I would have to use a disposable diaper & was the g diapers. There was no chance I would ever use these in public, only at home. And I have actually stopped using them all together.I don't know if this product would work better for formula fed babies, but I wouldn't not recommend these to breast feeding mothers.
