I love this chess set. I can play it with my cousins or dad or friends because they thought a regular chess set looked boring or too hard. I`ve always liked mario games and such. The pieces are all so detailed it looks like they came out of the tv! My favorite piece is bowser.

This set is tight! The pieces smell REALLY bad when you first open it so let it air out for a couple of hours. The pieces are sturdy and detailed. The price could be a bit lower though. The reason I got this is I didn't have a chess set of my own. My dad won't play on this set because he says, " It's too confusing. " He is just afraid he will get confused and loose. :P

This is such a great idea. My son loves the entire Mario crew and was so excited when we purchased this chess set. The character pieces are really cute with vibrant colors, making kids who might not normally be interested in chess, want to play/learn the game. The instructions are to the point and my 7 year old son caught on very quickly. Love this.
