I had a similar experience with another reviewer with the game only functioning in Demo mode. I took it back to where I purchased (overpriced competitor, but staffed with the 18-21 crowd that is video game savvy). After some playing around with it, we learned to press the start button when the screen loads and says "press start." Unfortunately, using the touch controls on the lower screen do not work for this function, or for loading and saving of games.

Still, with that knowledge, my 5 year old son who is a Sonic freak is very, very happy with these games. Now that we know, it is a ton of fun to play.

This product was not compatible with the Nintendo 3D DS. I was previously told that it would be compatible and all older game versions would work on the latest Nintendo.

The game would only play in demo mode when inserted. It would not let you take control and let you actually play it.

I took it back to the store (less than 14 days from purchase) and they asked me if it was defective. How did I know? I told them what the problem was and they said they could not take it back and only exchange it. No one could help me determine whether it was an incompatibility issue or a defective issue. I left the store very unhappy and will never buy video games from Toy R Us again.

Great game! Completely child friendly for any age, Bought it for my 5 and 7 yr old girls. THey love it!
Easy to play, but keeps you on your toes so you dont get tired of it at all :)

Ok now let me say I NEVER had the chance to play the original genesis games ( i only saw videos of the speedruns & LP's), & I was sooooo excited to find out that it was coming to DS. 6 games in 1, wow, for the same graphics & audio for cheap prices, good deal :D.

My daughter hadn't much interest in her Ds prior to getting this game for Christmas, now she loves it! (and the whole family loves it too)

A great collection that's perfect for anyone who either want classic sonic on the go or want to know what classic sonic was like. It includes Sonic the Hedgehog 1,2, and 3, as well as Sonic and Knuckles, plus Knuckles in Sonic 2, and my favorite Sonic 3 and Knuckles. There is also now a szve option in Sonic 1,2, etc... Bottom line: This collection almost never gets old.

Ok, let me start off by sayin dat dis game is really nice.IDK wut everyone else keeps sayin about how its bad and the original is way better and dis game killed it.Dis game is great.Sure the original is better bc its classic but we're in a new age of technology.We should be glad nintendo even made it for da ds and personally i think its waz a great move.And especially for people who miss da old sonic its nice to see it come back wit da whole classic collection.
