I love the fact that I have the option for my child to be in a 5 pt harnees untill he's 85lbs. We had an Alpha Omega Elite before and was a great car seat easy to adjust and light enought to switch from car to car... The Frontier is A lot heavier and not as easy to adjust to the fitting of the child, or it might be that it's different and we are not use to it. My husband Installed it within the 15 minutes we had it home it did take him a minute or two to adjust the head rest, thought it was pretty simple, his complain is the fact that the fastening at the chest feels somewhat flimsy, but I find it that it's a lot easier to unbuckle. All and all great seat! It is a lot wider than the Omega Elite, the third person barely fit in the back with the Omega Elite, now with the frontier it's pretty impossible to get the third person in the back of the hummer. My son loves it, he has more room in it and loves taking naps in it! I am definately happy with the purchase!!!

We have owned this car seat for 2 years and have feel that there are some features that could be improved on. First, the base of the seat is a hard satin-finished plastic that slips around very easily on leather seats. No matter how hard we crank down the LATCH attachments the front of the seat easily slides side to side as there is NO friction between the slippery seat bottom and the smooth leather. We placed a rubber tacky drawer liner between the seat and the leather to increase the "grab" and decrease the sliding. For the expense of Britax it is frustrating to have to jerry-rig the seat so that does not slip around. Second, the straps twist in such a way that you doubt everything you learned in advanced physics class. I read other reviewers complaints about twisting and thought "oh big deal!" but now I know that YES, it is a big deal. When you are in a hurry or standing in the freezing rain trying to get your child locked in safe and you have to twist and twist and twist and twist and twist the "bleeping!" strap in all directions and STILL IT WONT UNTWIST, you really want to throw this car seat right into the middle of the highway. Trust me, it's maddening. For the prices they charge, Britax could do MUCH better in developing straps that don't twist. My last concern about this seat is that it places your child in a stock straight 90 degree angle as if they were sitting at attention in church pew. Not comfortable for long rides. When my son falls asleep he is so upright his head slumps over with his chin touching his chest. As a medical professional I know that this position is not ideal in a car accident. We are disposing of this seat.

We bought this car seat because we love britax and love how safe their car seats are. My husband tried to install this car seat in our car that does not have a latch system. His hands were too big to fit through the holes in the back so I told him I would try it. Not only could I not get my hands through the holes in the back but the sides of the hole scraped up my hands pretty badly trying to do it. This is not what I expected from britax. We have to take it back.

Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Have a 4yr old who is in 95%+ on growth charts so he is good sized for his age and this is the best fit for a 5 point fit carseat in the market. Tried a few less expensive options and he didnt fit. Needless to say we ended up spending a little more and got a great buy. He fits great and is safe and secure! Only downfall, hard to get a comfy sleeping position.

We had to replace two carseats and switched from a Sunshine Kids Radian and a Britax Marathon to two Britax Frontier's. The seats were a bit difficult to install, but that's to be expected the first few times. My sons love the seats and enjoy the features. My two issues are that the armrests do not move which makes it difficult to get in and out of the seat, and also that the little elastic loops that hold the bottom of the cover on pop off ALL THE TIME. I'm going to sew velcro on the bottom because I'm so sick of putting them back on.

I have owned a plethora of Britax seats over the past 9 years. I have been super happy with all of them except one (the Parkway). I purchased these last night for my 5 and 3 year old. This will be the last seat I buy! As far as height goes, my 8 year old could fit in it and she is tall for her age! The seats were difficult to install with the latch system only having one side able to be tightened. I was frustrated that it took me as long as it did because I am so efficient at putting seats in. However, the seats are AWESOME!!! I drove home knowing that my kids are safe even if my van rolled 5 times! The cup holders are better than in previous seats (thankfully!!!) The one hand adjustment for height is a welcome change from having to rethread the shoulder straps. You do have to take out the middle buckle if you want it for a larger child (takes like 3 mintues) I am impressed with the quality and look forward to travelling with these seats. Well worth the money and peace of mind knowing my babies are safe.

We purchased this product for both of our boys who are now 4 and 6. Our 6 year old was complaining that his friends have car seats that only use the regular car seat belt and why does he have to use the Britax belt (5 point harness)? We talked about maybe switching. This past weekend, we were hit after a driver ran a red light. He was going at least 65mph. It was terrifying. My husband and I are going to doctors for our neck/knee problems but our kids walked away without a scratch! We had a great car too but can't praise the car seat enough for protecting our boys' necks from whiplash.

Just moved my 4 year old out of his convertible carseat into this - he was getting too big for his other seat, yet not quite big enough for a booster without straps. Love that this seat has the LATCH system - it keeps it securely in place in the seat even once we are using just the seatbelt. And as I mentioned, it's a booster WITH harness buckles, so we get to keep him harnessed longer, a big safety plus.
So far, no complaints. Has 2 built in cupholders, and is light-weight, and easy to install with the latch system.

Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
