The Babi Italia Pinehurst Classic Guard is used to convert the Babi Italia Pinehurst Lifestyle Convertible Crib - Tea Stain to a toddler bed.

The guard rail converts SKU 831657 Babi Italia proudly designs and builds high value baby furniture. Made of solid wood construction and wood veneers, the baby furniture collections by Babi Italia come in both contemporary and traditional styles as well as in an equal assortment of wood finishes including classic cherry, espresso, tea stain and natural. All pieces are crafted to be strong, beautiful and ageless.

Each nursery furniture collection by Babi Italia conveys a harmonious feel to help parent's define the look of their nursery. When babies outgrow Babi Italia cribs at 35 inches tall, the crib can be safely and easily converted into a toddler bed or day bed. Babi Italia fine nursery furniture is sold exclusively at Babies'R'Us.

      We bought this to convert our crib to a toddler bed so our son could climb in and out on his own. It was really easy to attach, fits perfectly, and looks great. Our son loves it! We have been using it for about a year now and its still in great shape. We plan on passing it on to the next child.

      As other reviewers have indicated, this product is for the CLASSIC version (as the product name states), not the LIFESTYLE version (as the description states).

      To get the toddler guard rail for the lifestyle version, you need to contact a local BabiesRUs store, (not the toll-free number for ordering they mention in their recording). The local store can special-order the toddler guard rail for you. The SKN# for it is 141547. They will give you a cost when you call (not supposed to list it in a review). The bed can still be a daybed without a guardrail even if you don't purchase that piece.

      Also FYI, if you want the bed rail to convert to a full size bed, it is no longer available in Tea Stain. As of right now, you can get it in Espresso, which is a little darker, but it would be covered up by bedding so may not be an issue. The SKN for that is 417731.

              We purchased the Babi Italia Pinehurst crib for our triplets under the assumption that we would be able to use it as a toddler bed with rails. Two years after purchasing the cribs we purchased the toddler rails only to discover they don't fit the crib as advertised by Babies R Us. We are outside of the 90 day return policy and will have to contact customer service to hopefully get a full refund. Babies R Us should pull this product from the market, as this crib is not a fully convertible bed and they are selling a faulty product that does not fit the crib. I wish I'd read the reviews before purchasing. Babies R Us should really fix this and do right by thier customers.

              Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

                                    I bought the convertable crib with the high back and 2 years later went for the bed rail too. Got one that was too short and that was to be put in the front and the hole for the bed were in the back. after calling the company for [...] baby italia there are 2 different rails being made because La Jolia is a sister company that runs with them and makes the smaller bed rails... I was upset that after spending money, time and getting frustrated I came across this info. They don't even tell you this info when you calling the companies and that's even worse! I'm not even shopping with either companies anymore because they lost my trust. I gave up and at this point my son was already use to sleeping without the rail it wasn't even worth us getting one.
