I bought this game for my eight year old for Christmas. She already knew how to play and was thrilled to get it. I really like the game but was not pleased to find that there were only 32 pieces included for a game that requires 48. We improvised with some glass gems she already had but it would have been nice to get the complete game we thought we paid for. I will be contacting the company to request the additional pieces.

As other reviewers have mentioned, the game comes with 32 pieces (actually advertised in the box). The instructions inside the box state that you needs 4 pieces per bowl and since there are 6 bowls, total required are really 48. Furthermore, the instructions say in English that 32 pieces are included, but in Spanish it says 36. Finally,one of the stones was broken.

We purchased this game in the store. I love the size and that it folds in half for easy storage. I did only give it 4 stars casue we had to exchange the first one due to a pebble being broken. Also it looked as if it had been returned once if not more already.

Not sure why people are saying there weren't enough stones...my set came with the 48 that you need...maybe bad shipments or something in the past...or maybe they fixed it after all the negative reviews! Who knows?

My only complaint is that the instructions say you move the pieces clockwise, which is wrong...in every set of instructions you find online or on YouTube, they show the pieces moving counter-clockwise.

My daughter loves Mancala, so I thought the beautiful board would make her happy. We were very surprised and disappointed that there were only 32 stones - when 48 are necessary to play - 6 cups x 4 stones = 24 per side of game. The Spanish instructions state it needs 36 stones. Either way, whoever made this version, needs basic math skills and probably has lost his/her marbles.

Bad product - Not enough stones to play!

I've recently purchased two separate versions of Mancala (one in a tin box, and the other a "deluxe" wooden model), and both games came with an inadequate number of gemstones. The "deluxe" set states on the box and in the english instructions (though in Spanish it says 36...) that 32 gems come with the game. The instructions tell the player to place 4 gemstones into each pod (12 pods total), so that would require 48 gemstones total... not 32, or 36! It seems inconceivable that one would attempt to sell a game without the required amount of materials to play.

Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Like everyone says - the game requires 48 pieces and it only comes with 32. Also the instructions say to move the pieces clockwise - you actually move the pieces counter clockwise to play this game.

i tried this in my school, it was very fun so i decided to buy it,but not all the gemstones were there, but i went to the store bought a 100 pack gems and my problem was solved but i do know how to play so i didnt have too read the instructions.....hope you have fun playing mancala =p
