I am really happy with this tool set, purchased for my 2 1/2 year old son. He is in love with his tools, and he loves that they look just like Daddy's. It took him a couple days to be able to swap battery packs on his own, but now he's a pro, and that's one of the best parts, since Daddy's work the same way, of course. They each have a little red light to illuminate the item being 'cut/drilled' (flashlight aside), another detail my son loves. Ours get lots of daily use (for over two months now), and they've held up very well, except for the part that holds in the removeable drill bits. My son pushes VERY hard when trying to drill holes and managed to bend a piece of the plastic inside the front of the drill so that the bits can now fall out when held in a downward orientation. Now that he is aware of that, he tries to be more careful. It's a minor annoyance that hasn't affected overall performance. A great purchase we're all happy with. (Just beware, we keep the removeable drill & saw bits away from the younger brother, as they present choking hazards). I also like that the battery packs can be used on other 'power tools' in this range (though not all - e.g. the nail gun).

The toys are really cute and fun. They work just like adult tools do, with working parts and little red lights. The only problem is that it only comes with two battery packs, so you have to keep switching then between the 4 toys. Yes this is how adult tools work but my kid doesn't have the patience for this. Plus he can't move the battery pack so I have to constantly do it for him. Maybe it would be easier for a bigger kid, i.e 7 year old. But I would like it if I could buy extra battery packs or if it just came with 4 with the set.

I gave this item one star only because I have ordered this twice and both times I have had a drill that doesnt work. Very frustrating since my boys want to play with it more than any of the other items. They love the tools but I question the quality.

Bought this for my 2 and a 1/2 year old son. He loves helping my husband fix things and use his tools, so I knew this would be perfect! I was right! Each tool is very realistic in the way it looks, works and sounds. The only negative thing I can say, is that my son has trouble getting the rechargeable batteries on and off, but again, he's only 2. All in all, this toy is awesome!!!

The set looks nice but the problem is that there is a drill with nothing to drill and a saw with nothing to cut. We have a smaller set that has a screwdriver with some screws. I thought this would be better for two kids, no fighting over it, but the other makes more sense, actually having it do something, I would not purchase again. I will now have to search for something to make it functional and keep their interest.

I'd love to be able to buy more "battery packs" (they're really just holders for two double A batteries).

The rechargeable, interchangeable battery packs paradigm makes sense for real tools, but for toys (and when they're not rechargeable), it makes little sense. We're always trying to find a toy with a battery pack to make the toy of the moment work.

If they sold the battery packs separately, no problem. But they don't, so it is.

ordered this item 2 weeks before christmas, received a ZHU ZHU PET HANGOUT in the box instead of the tool set... paperwork inside the box was for this item... i called toysrus and they told me they would fix the issue.. but the tool set was no longer available so i asked if i could browse the site again and try to find something similar and call them back... they said it was fine.. so later i searched the website and the tool set was back up as available so i called back and they said they would ship it out expidited shipping so i could still receive by christmas. dec 23rd it still hadnt arrived so i called to check on it and they told me it was never sent back out but sent to SHIPPING LABELS instead.. now i am sitting here the day AFTER christmas still without my order.. no money returned to my card and no shipping label sent to me to return the ZHUZHU PET HANGOUT they sent me on accident instead of my tool set.. all in all i would say i dont know much about the tool quality because i have not received it.. but the customer service is pathetic.
