Bought this product for my 4-yr Grandson at Christmas. After building the fort a couple of times he get the hang of it and now builds other structures. Great for counting, spatial coordination and imagination. I'm having as much fun helping him build with Lincoln Logs as he is.

This item is great! My son took it out of the box and started playing with it immediately on Christmas morning. We bought him 2 different sets of lincoln logs at the same time from TRU and both sets have occupied him for hours. He has a twin brother and usually they have separate interests but they are both enjoying the LL and playing nicely together...THAT is a great Christmas present for me ;)

After being disappointed with this product and returning the one I bought for my own children months ago, I found out that my niece wanted Lincoln Logs for her birthday. So I went to the store hoping I could open the package before actually purchasing, to see if the logs were properly made. It turned out that one package was already opened on the shelf, and all looked well. My niece is very happy with her first set of real Lincoln Logs. Be sure to ask to view the logs and make sure they are cut cleanly before purchasing, and you will have a nice set of real Lincoln Logs.

I saw somewhere online that someone else complained the pieces did not fit properly. From previous experience, I thought that was impossible, and that they must be talking about some off-brand product by a packager that sells cheap junk. But when I got my own, what a surprise to open a package of the name-brand Lincoln Logs and find out that they were considerably worse than the off-brand imitation Lincoln Logs. If the picture represented what was inside, I would have been pleased; but this time the manufacturer was committing a deceptive crime. I asked my 7-year-old son if he would like to keep them or return them, after he built with them once. He wants to return them.

Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend
