Belle's gown has 2 layers on the skirt including an under skirt satin and a top layer of 2 tone organza with rushing. The fabric is topped with pink sparkle sheer ribbons, rhinestone details in the center of each bow, and a hem detailed with metallic woven trim. The bodice has horizontal pleating and an off-the-shoulder collar in 2-tone organza with metallic woven trim along with a hand constructed satin rose with glitter sheer leafs.

With 6 points of articulation of neck, shoulder, waist, and hips, the joints are all ball joints for a greater range of poseableability. Belle's hand sculpted face is based on the animated Disney movie. Her skin has a matte porcelain finish and her eyes are of the highest grade of glass eyes called Macor eyes. Her hair is made of the finest hand rooted hair imported from Japan called Kanekalon. A signature tiara with a high gloss metallic finish is accented with rhinestones. Belle has metallic gold faceted earrings and satin shoes that can be removed.

The official trust mark of the Disney Princess and Me line can be located on each doll's foot; the trust mark can also be found in all the garments, like a garment label insuring authenticity.

I collect 17-21 inch vinyl play dolls: American Girl, Magic Attic, Karito Kids, Carpatina, etc. We have about 80 (yes eighty) dolls in our house, so I have lots of opinions about pros & cons of various brands.I agree that the rooted hair on the Disney Princess & Me dolls is the worst thing about them. But in our house we are used to the idea that some dolls' hair can be brushed and styled, while other dolls' hair should not be messed with. At 5 yrs old, my kid understood things like not to use people hairbrushes on dolls, and not to brush the hair of any doll with curls. So these dolls' hair being unbrushable is not a problem - she can still dress them, play tea party, etc. The dolls (we got Tiana & Belle) are very cute. I am especially pleased with Tiana, because it is hard to find nice ethnic dolls for my collection.The best thing about these dolls is the quality of the bodies. First, the arms & legs are strung, not flange-jointed, so they can be dressed & posed more easily. Second, they are slim enough to wear the slimmer clothes from Carpatina, which is the company that makes the most fantastic doll clothes. And third, they have an extra joint in the torso, allowing them to twist at the waist. I have not seen this in other dolls, but love the additional poseability.If the hair really does become a problem, you can always cut it off and glue on a new wig - more info at this website: [@]Best of all, these dolls cost less than most others in our collection, so I'm fine with my kid playing with them (a few of our dolls are rather valuable, so just for display, not everyday play).

Lovely, but not well made

My daughter received this doll last night for her birthday and she was thrilled! But, as her mom, I wish it was a lot more durable--especially for the price.

This morning she woke up after the doll had only been taken out of the package and laid on her bed (she didn't snuggle with it even) and one of the earrings was missing. I looked everywhere to no avail. The doll doesn't come with much except what the doll is wearing. It is fastened into the box with those plastic ties that go through socks, but you can't completely get them out of the doll's head. Nail Clippers will get you the closest to the sharp ends to cut them without cutting the doll's hair. If your daughter really wants this doll and loses the earrings (which will likely happen quickly), a possible solution are small jewel stickers. They don't stick for long, but you could use a hot glue gun or a bit of glue to stick them on the dolls ears. They look fine. My daughter was satisfied with this fix. I'm also not sure about how well the hair is going to do over time. It feels like it's going to get tangled very easily.

The doll will fit into other 18" doll clothes (like the My Generation or American Girl), but this dolls shoulders are narrower since it is an all plastic doll so the clothes will fit differently and hang very loosely.

Belle is the most beautifull princess dolls of them all. She has such a beautifull dress. It is so fancy. He hair is so soft and her bun is perfect. Her earings do come out very easily but she can wear mine. I love to sleep with her when I go to bed. She is so real looking and life like. I can see her neck bones. It is really real looking. And her eyes are sparkely brown.

I almost bought my daughter an American girl doll and so glad I did not. This is better quality than most dolls anywhere and so real looking. I saw someone was upset about the earrings coming out, they are meant to come out so you can change them. The way the body moves is amazing as well. This was money well spent and I am thinking about buying them all for her I am so pleased with it.

Got this for my 6 year old for christmas last year. Belle is her favorite princess and her Belle doll is her absolute favorite toy. We also purchased the carriage bed, ballerina outfit, pj's, and the tea set.My daughter slept with Belle every night took her everywhere even to disneyworld. Doll held up amazingly well. hair gets a little messy around the bun but nothing that takes away from the beauty of the doll. We lost our Belle doll while on vacation and my daughter has been devastated. This was her favorite toy for a year so when we got home I replaced the doll with no hesitations because it was such a good and durable doll.

I have waited nine months to purchase this doll so that my daughter would be old enough to play with and enjoy this doll. All of the dolls are beautiful but I loved the Belle doll the most. She looks like she is pictured in the photo. I can't wait until she opens it for Christmas, so I--I mean--she can play with it!!!
