Prepare to defend the Great Dragon Castle. Includes four figures dressed in armor, red dragon, working ballista, and many other accessories. The Great Dragon Castle comes with a beacon that lights and the dungeon can be opened. Also comes with a Red Dragon Badge for the child to wear.

Once upon a time in 1876, there was a locksmith named Andreas Brandstatter. Mr. Brandstatter planted a magical seed that would eventually blossom into Playmobil by founding an eponymous lock and metal fitting company in Furth, Germany. By the 1930s, Playmobil's pretend play had again been redefined; manufacturing telephones, cash registers, and various items for toy shops using sheet metal. At the beginning of the 1950s, Horst Brandstatter, the Playmobil's current owner, came on board and started a new era in the company history. He updated Playmobil pretend play products, searched out new markets and focused production on his favorite material, plastic. In 1958, the hula hoop craze gripped the world, and Horst Brandstatter was determined to perfect the pretend play toy that would inspire further exploration. Realizing that the technique, using air pressure, hot plastic hoses, and shape molds, could also produce basically any shape (in addition to the traditional bottles and hoops), Mr. Brandstatter created the first prototype Playmobil pretend play item, a closed racing car manufactured in a single production step. From that point on, the company expanded rapidly with products in toys. Playmobil was introduced at the 1974 International Toy Fair in Nuremberg and by using an innovative marketing strategy, parents and children responded uniformly with fascination and enthusiasm, to Playmobil.

My 4 year old absolutely loves this. I put it on his wish list not knowing for sure, but I can't keep him away from it. It took a stay at home Mom with 2 wiggly kids about 45 minutes to put it together, so I don't know what all the fuss is about. It went together rather quickly considering all the little parts. We have the smaller dragon dungeon on his list to add to it at Christmas. I would highly recommend it for your little dragon enthusiast!

My son got this for Xmas last year along with the matching green dragon castle playset. He was four last year and played with it some. He had a little trouble with the trap door and some of the accessories coming off with heavy play. Now that he is almost five he has spent countless hours playing with the two sets. The playset has held up great and nothing has broken. I would highly recommend. He will be getting extra playsets to enlarge his armies this year.

Easier to put together than most playmobil. Play is a little more limited than with the regular castle, but it comes with everything you need to have fun right away. We bought the connecting castle and it is really fun.
