The Smart Trike Deluxe - Red and Black grows with your child through various stages of life. The Smart Trike encourages a sense of adventure from an early stage. Your baby will ride in a safe and secure position with the seat belt and safety bar. When your child is young, you can take control with the telescopic steering handle. The seat offers long back support and a comfortable padded cover. The detachable, adjustable canopy offers sun protection. Release the clutch to give your little driver freewheeling control, or push it in to direct the trike yourself. The foldable footrest provides comfortable support for young passengers. Later, your child will graduate to the pedals, which have a non-slip surface for safety. The trike is equipped with rubber wheels and metal components for durability and ideal performance. This bike is so adorable. The ability to steer with the handle is great! My son loves it. My only problem with the bike is that it seems too small. My son is 13 months and is almost too big to ride it. He weighs 24 pounds and is in the 50th percentile for height. The space between the seat back and the handle bars is very tight. His chest almost touches the handle bars. His feet can reach the ground so he tends to drag them.
I have owned this bike for a week and love it. BUT, I don't think I will be able to use it for more than six months.

I love the idea of this trike, however improvements on the trike are needed. The trike feels very flimsy when steering it. Most importanly though the adult steering handle faces towards the left when the trike's wheels are centered. We received a trike that we thought was defective (with the handle turned to the left) so it was returned. The next trike had the same problem with the handle so I think it is an overall defect in the construction of the smart trike. It is hard to steer with this handle not being centered. The trike is also not made for taller infants. My 11 month old's head reaches the top of the canopy already (he is 29 inches tall).

      The wheels are listed as metal but in fact are plastic with no gripping ability so the trike slides instead of turning on the sidewalk. Several of the straps broke within 5 months of casual use.
      This product was not what was expected and we regret the purchase.

        I got this for my son as a first birthday present, and six month later he loves it! Any time we walk past my garage he points because he knows it's in there. It's time to change into the second stage, and I can't wait to see how he pedals! The downside is that keeping the wheels straight requires a slight left pitch to the steering wheel, but that's not such a big deal. It's so sturdy and cute; he was an absolute hit on the boardwalk!

        My twin grandchildren live in Fla. For their 1st birthday I bought the 3 in 1 Deluxe for my grandson. The adult steering is awful. Handle has to be facing left to steer straight. My daughter bought the Zoo Galah for my Granddaughter, and it works great!
        The kids love them, but my grandson's will have to be replaced!

        My son (12 months) smiles every time he sees this thing! He loves to ride in it so I take it to stores with me now. I don't like that the pedals move when I am pushing it, just because I worry about his feet, but nothing has happened and I think he may like the pedals moving against his toes. This is the best toddler stroller ever!

          i love this trike! my son was so happy when he first seen it on his bday! everytime we go on a stroll together he is always so happy and quiet as if he is just happy to be in it, i am so happy i got this toy! he loves the colors and the little phone that comes attathed to it, i even like the fact that it comes with a cup holder and a bag attatched to it, ILOVE THIS TRIKE AND SO DOES MY SON JACOB :)

            Got this trike for grandsons first birthday. He loves it and so do we. We use it every day for walks. Only problem we had with putting it together was the pin and pin hole to hold the handle on didnt match up. Husband fixed that issue with the drill and a bolt. Also They could improve on the pop on little carry bin that goes on the back. It comes off all the time. We choose just to leave it in the closet for now. Other than those to things this trike has been wonderful. Its steers easily and is very sturdy.

                      I hate this. It is not sturdy, it is nearly impossible to turn and as was stated in another rating, when the wheels are straight, the handle is turned to the left which makes it difficult to even steer straight. I can't imagine any good feedback on this. All I can think is that they haven't used it much yet. It KILLS my wrists to try to push it and I've readjusted it to every height. I purchased a different brand first and it had all these same problems, plus the wheels turned when my grandson was too little to pedal and first time around the block, it hit his little foot and he cried. Back it went for this one. The pedals stop when they hit it feet but it still has all of the other problems.
