I was so excited about cloth diapering my son and chose G Diapers because I liked the idea of the versatility of cloth vs. disposable liners. Also loved the convenience of family and friends being able to buy them off our registry. However, once we started using them we had a lot of difficulty with leaks. And by that I mean my son leaked through them EVERY SINGLE TIME he wore them. I followed all of the recommendations: I prewashed the heck out of my inserts, I waited until he was solidly past the 8 lb. minimum recommended on the package, I read up on proper fit online (even watched the video!), and tried both the cotton and disposable inserts. Nonetheless, despite vigilant diaper changes every two hours, he would ALWAYS leak. Although he has occasionally leaked through disposables, I was really disappointed in this system. If anyone wants some, they can buy them off me, because now I have a lot of money invested in a diaper system that doesn't work for us. It's a shame, I was super-excited.

We love these diapers. We have problems with leaking with our son in every diaper we've ever tried so that is nothing new. As long as you change every two hours and use the disposable cloths (not the cloth inserts) overnight we haven't had any problems. Even when he wears a disposable diaper overnight it leaked anyway so I think the bad reviews come from parents not used to disposables and maybe not realizing that the alternatives to gDiapers, like bumgenius and fuzzybuns, leak WAY more than gDiapers!

We have been using these diapers for a year and a half now, and while there is a bit of a learning curve (as there is with any cloth diaper), these diapers can and will work for any baby. My son is a skinny-minny without much chub on his thighs and they still work great. We use the cloth inserts (doubled or tripled bc he's a heavy wetter) and the flushable ones when we're out. The waterproof liners are VERY breathable--in fact, in the summer, I thought my baby was wet, but really he was just sweating... the diaper lets the moisture evaporate and keeps his cheeks dry! [...]BOTTOM LINE: Give them a chance. Take advantage of their incredible customer service. You'll love them. Promise.

We researched many cloth diapers online and thought the g-diaper looks the cutest and the design seemed awesome. We bought both cloth and disposable inserts along with the shells. They are good ideas but bad designs. They not only leak pretty bad around the legs, but also chaffed the baby's skin on his inner hip. There is a hard piece of fabric where the velcro attaches to the front panel. Also, although the outer shell is breathable, the barrier layer is a piece of white plastic and looks very non-breathable.

i bought 3 packs- six pair, each pair come with 3liners. very very easy very cute and for stay at home moms -- very cost effective. expensive at first when buying the set- saves tons of money over time. i have bought both the paper pads and cloth pads..i like both

I bought these to use for my 5th child, since we are planning to have 1 more, I figured I'd get good use out of them, and they seem more durable than the plastic gerber covers. They do hold up well in the wash, and I've had no problems with the velcro- I follow the instructions and fold them in the wash. However, they leak terribly. I am using the cloth inserts that are made for these, and rarely do I get more than one use for these. I wash the whole thing 2 times per day- have 4 covers and 12 inserts. These may work better for girls. They are really cute and not too bulky, but the leaking thing is a problem. I have also tried these with the prefolds, and have had about the same results.

I have used these diaper with my first child who is now 26 months and plan to use them again with my second child due in a few days. Like all cloth diapers they need to be changed more frequently than disposable especially if you have a heavy wetter. I often put two cloth inserts in at night or if we're going to be out for awhile, that or use the disposable inserts. I love these diapers because they have both cloth and disposable inserts. Also I did a lot or research on cloth diapers in general when we switched and these are one of the few that can be reused by putting in a new insert. Most of the other cloth diaper systems have you put the insert into a pocket in the diaper which requires you to use a whole new system each time. I have 7 cloth shells a few extra liners and 18 cloth inserts for my daughter who is now in the large size and have not found myself without a clean diaper to use. I rinse the inserts and them wash them every 2 days. I have found that as long as you follow the instructions and fold the Velcro over when washing so it does not get caught on other clothes in the wash and dryer it does not curl back and get caught on her clothes. If the diaper is a little big and the velcor over laps it may get caught on other clothes but it never seemed like a big deal. I love this diapers and recommend them all the time.

These are the softest, most adorable cloth diapers. We used these almost exclusively with our first child and are still using them with our second child, happily. We do have an occasional leak, but certainly no more than any other cloth diaper we use. My favorite feature of this diaper is that the liner can be washed seperately than the cover - so useful. But also, the versatility of the disposable insert versus the cloth insert - we use regular prefolds with no issue. (We've always line dried our diapers, which may be why our velcro has held up).

Although this are by far the cutest diaper covers- they don't work at all. They're only good for one use. They get saturated on the first pee and have to be washed. Also, the velcro tabs curl up and catch on everything. Underneath his clothes they stick up and attach to the onsie.

I returned the ones I hadn't opened/used. :(

The velcro wears out too quickly. My small size velcro tabs were wearing down and not holding well, sticking to her clothing and coming undone. To me the whole point of cloth diapering is to be able to use them again for a second child. If they couldn't last more than 3 months, they won't last for another child. The other issue I have with these diapers is that it seems like a good idea to be able to separate the liner and reuse the outer cloth, but often the moisture still moves through the liner, making the cloth feel damp and often the cloth became dirty. So to have to wash the whole thing made me want to switch to a pocket style cloth diaper that you wash the whole thing anyway instead of trying to get multiple uses out of one. Much easier.
