Sophie is a must have for any baby!!! My little girl is 5 months old and has been in love with Sophie for about 3 months now at least. She is easy for babies to hang onto and her legs seem to be the favorite part to chew on. Just be careful when cleaning her, she loses her squeak if she is submerged in water (eventually came back about 2 weeks later) and will lose her spots if put in the dishwasher!

I thought this giraffe would be a hit with my son since it is soft, chewable rubber and has parts that are small enough to fit into his mouth easily (unlike some teethers). I washed it before I gave it to him, but when he put it in his mouth he made a strange face, so I assume that it tastes bad. He does like to look at it and hold it, though. We've tried numerous other teethers and the only success was a teething blanket. But I should have seen that coming since he was always trying to chew on his blanky. Bottom line: All children like to chew on different things and since this teether is very expensive, I would try all others before buying this one.

      A friend recommended putting this on our registry list, otherwise we may have passed it by due to expense. But I'm glad we have it because the little one loves it. This was one of the first toys she could hold on to (neck of the giraffe) and was gnawing on it constantly in her pre-teething days. Now that she's cutting teeth, she prefers refrigerated teethers. But we definitely got our use out of Sophie.

        We had tried so many options for teething relief. My poor little guy has had a rough time with those teeth coming in. So many people loved Sophie, and my friend who worked in a pediatrician's office as an RN said that many babies and toddlers who were teething came in with Sophie. The parents couldn't say anything but good things about this giraffe. So, we ordered her in hope that she would live up to her reputation. She has! Sophie goes everywhere. She is so easy for my 6 month old to hold and chew on, and she is the perfect size. She's not a miracle worker, but she definitely takes some of the edge off of teething.

        Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

            Sophie is wonderful!! She is worth every single penny. Our son is in love with Sophie we do not leave the house without her anymore. He will not take a pacifier and Sophie is his "soothing" item. He is 4 1/2 months old he literally will talk it under his arm. Best teether/toy ever!

              We LOVED this teething toy! My daughter played with this all the time. It's soft and organic which was great! It was easy to wipe clean and the colors never faded. My only complaint is the squeeker. It is alittle loud, which is no problem at home, but when we went to the store it was kind of loud. Other than the squeeker I would'nt change a thing!

                        I debated buying Sophie for quite awhile and read lots and lots of reviews. Some were really bad, calling this a glorified dog toy and a choking hazard. Well let me say that this was not the case for us. This may be the best teether ever, and we have tried many. My daughter fell in love at first chew :) The very first time she held her my Sophie went an extra 20 minutes without demanding a feeding. This is really something in our house as she usually is screaming like a banshee if we are even 2 minutes late. Sophie the Giraffe is all natural made with only food grade ingredients, including the paint. That alone puts this above any dog toy. As far as choking, I am sure it could happen but when I have to divide my attention I make sure our little girl is not playing with anything smaller than her head!

                        Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
