    Bought this for my sons birthday as he loves drums. he is only 2 yrs old btu we didn't want to waste money on a baby drum he'll grow out of to soon. The sound is much more authentic than any "baby drum set" you'd find. It looks great. Because he is only 2 we knew & expected he'd not play with it longer than a minute or 2 at a time but he does go to it often & bang on it & laugh & have fun. we feel he;ll grow into it & it is perfect for a little older. very easy to assemble . we even enjoy playing on it ourselves ! I personanlly think it's "educational" as music is part of a well rounded development.

          I purchased a electronic drum set for my grandson for Christmas(not from this company or store) and I, as well as he, was disappointed with product. I had to make it up to him so I ordered this set for him. He loves it!!! He began drumming before I could finished putting it together. He is on his way to becoming a great drummer. Great set for beginners with a love for drums Don't be surprised by the loud sound; they are drums for heaven's sakes!

            as long as you remember this is a toy and not a REAL drumset, your expectations will be tempered. The hardwarre is not first rate inthat the drum stands are easliy dilsodged from their settings by a hard hitting tot (like mine). The good thing is that they are not as loud as real drums (but they are still loud) with the cymbal providing the most noise.

                    If you are a drummer yourself, you know about drum "MUFFLING", with out it, the set will produce that "RINGING" sound,after I took each head off with the drum key and added some basic duct tape and paper towls to the inside of the heads a small blanket to the inside of the base drum,turned the snares "ON" on the snare drum, it sounded AWESOME just like a real music store expensive set. My 5 year old daughter is loving it!! I am very impressed with the sound quality.
