After birth, the hospital gave us the Enfamil "Premiun Lipil"(yellow) Sophia ate it just fine, but I found her puking after almost every feeding- no matter if we burped her multiple times or sat her up for 30+ min after feedings. Once we got home, I had bought a container of this NB version for when we got home. Once I switched, the problem was solved! She is able to eat and keep it down. She's right on track with weight gain, and Dr's Say shes doing just fine :) The formula is easy to mix- no problems with clumping. As a first time mom to other mommy-to be's out there that are trying to choose a formula, CHOOSE THIS ONE!!!

We think we like this formula but it is difficult to tell. Our newborn came home from the hospital on this and wasn't having any difficulty. Once we ran out of the pre-mixed that the hospital sent us home with, we switched to the powder and our baby immediately became constipated. Our doctor said there shouldn't be a difference but as soon as we switched back to the pre-mix (Gentlease) he was fine. The problem is that on the Gentlease he is spitting up more and appears to have more gas issues so we want to switch him back to the Newborn but it only comes in the 2 oz nursettes as pre-mixed. They are difficult to find and are costly. At just over 1 month old he is consuming at least 4 oz per feeding. For a formula marketed to be 0-3 months, I would expect there to be another option?

Comments about Mead Johnson Enfamil Newborn Powder - 22.2 Ounce:

We were given the ready to eat bottles in the hospital and my son immediately took the bottles without any issues. Once home we bought the powered version and noticed the first bottle that they two formulas look different. The ready to eat is brownish color and the powdered version is more of a white color. We also noticed that our son tolerates and eats the ready to eat version better than the powdered version. If they are supposed to be the same formula then why do they look different and why does our son digest them different? We just want to have our son be able to not be in stomach pain after he eats.

Comments about Mead Johnson Enfamil Newborn Powder - 22.2 Ounce:

This product is great. When my baby was born he exclusively used the ready-to-use formula in the hospital; after we came home, and ran out of what the hospital gave us, we used the powder. When not traveling we used the powder which caused the usual baby gas. During long car rides we would occasionally use the ready-to-use formula which would cause a slight change in eating habit and more than normal gas(this version of newborn formula also temporarily stained, unlike the powder alternative).

I just wish they had a double-sided scoop: one side would measure for a 2 oz serving while the other was for a 1 oz serving. This would be extremely helpful instead of either guesstimating a half scoop or finding alternate measuring tools/techniques.

Comments about Mead Johnson Enfamil Newborn Powder - 22.2 Ounce:

We were given powered and 2 oz ready to use bottles of newborn formula. After going through the ready to use bottles we gave the baby newborn powdered. My baby does not agree with the powdered version of newborn formula. He was cried more than normal, would not sleep past an hour, would not settle down & his guts were making lots of noise. His poops went from green solid & liquid and full to 97% liquid.
I noticed Enfamil states powered versions of their formula are NOT sterile and do not understand. Maybe that has something to do with it???

We purchased 2 six packs of 2 ounce ready to feed bottles and the baby is back to being happy and sleeping normal. His stomach makes much less noise and he has proper movements.

Why not offer a larger ready to feed containers of newborn formula that wouldn't be so wasteful. I guess it's 3 months of throwing away an ounce here and there until baby moves up to 4oz per feedings or moves to regular infant ready to feed 8 ounce bottles.

Thanks for the ready to feed formulation. It works great.

My son is doing great on this formula. Sucking it down fast. Just causes him gas and constipation. But I guess my son has a high tolerance for pain because he doesn't complain at all.
