My ex-wife got this for my daughter and she had so much fun making the candy at home that she decided to bring it to my house to play with. Bad mistake. We could not get it to work. The motor spun, but only spun off the solid sugar. No cotton candy. Sugar got all over my kitchen. I even covered the bowl with a newspaper to reduce the flying sugar. I let it "warm up" for 15 minutes even though the warm up light was green. I cleaned EVERYTHING repeatedly. After 3 hours of trying it this way, I decided to take it apart. However there are triangular head screws. Since I only had flat heads and phillips, I used a small flat head screw driver to open them. Once I pulled it apart. I noticed the problem immediately. Apparently during transport 1 plastic piece that held the spindle on the motor in place had become loose and was sideways. I mereley pushed it down back even on it's two spindles. I then put it back together and turned it on. The wind blowing from the vents soon became warm and it was time for cotton candy.

do not buy this product. First of all even when putting in the sugar slowly it goes all over the place. The flavored sugar stains everything took over 2 days to get it off my hands.The machine shuts off every 3 minutes and is very hard to get back on. The ready light never comes on and again after 3 minutes the machine shuts off again.For something that cost [$] it is worth $3.00 and maybe not even that.Don't waste you time buying this.What a piece of junk.

        my daughter got this for her birthday and was super exicted but when we opened it, it looked like it was used already! super gross!!! hopefully i can return it.

                    well I bought this product before reading the reviews, I was upset to see the bad reviews and was skeptical about returning it. I had a small problem though that was my daughters main gift that she had asked for from Santa. Well we opened it, took it apart and cleaned it as the instructions called for. We turned it on and voila everything worked perfect, we did have to pour the sugar super slow but almost instantly the sugar lines started coming out. It was super easy and fast I totally find no problem with it.
                    Only thing I would recommend is you buy the sugar refills, for some reason my dumb butt didn't see it doesn't come with the refills. the only place I could find them at wa Toys r us which is about 45 minutes away, good thing is it does allow you to use regular white sugar but that is so plain so I will have to pick up some
                    refills soon.

                            My daughter received this as a gift for Christmas after asking for it for weeks. We didn't even get one 'good' cotton candy out of it. My daughter was so disappointed. Why would the company sell this poorly constructed product? Do not buy it no matter how much your child asks for it. I am so sad for my child.

                              Disappointment. The machine was easy to set up, however the on/off switch is in an ackward place. On our initial run, the motor started to heat up and when we tried to turn it off it was almost impossible. You have to rotate the outer portion of the maching from the inner part to turn it on and off. Needless to say when we set up to run again the next day it did not work. The A/C adapter broke. It uses 23V A/C to operate and the adapter is not outputing 23V. We will return and not sure if we will get another.

                                      I setup the machine and it took awhile to warm up. Once it did I slowly poured in the sugar as instructed. It started spinning out the sugar, it took a few seconds to realize which way to twirl and move the paper to get the candy to stick to it. We had two kids, my daughter let her friend go first, it only got about an inch worth of candy before it stopped completely. Her friend said it tasted good but my daughter didn't get any but a small piece from the bowl.
