To be able to understand why LEGO has been successful for so long, just look to the name. LEGO originally got its name from founder Ole Kirk Christiansen who combed the Danish words "Leg Got" which means "play well". He later realized that LEGO in Latin translates to "I put together. The LEGO set became a standard of creative play for children worldwide, unlocking the creativity to build vehicles, buildings, cities and more. Historians point to the invention of the wheel as a major turning point in world history. The invention of the LEGO wheel had the same monumental effect in the history of LEGO, making it possible to create cars, trucks and eventually the LEGO train building set that is one of the most successful LEGO sets of all time. LEGO currently produces about 20 billion LEGO bricks a year and has sold over 400 billion LEGOs in their history -- enough for every person on the planet to have over 60 LEGOs each!

This is a great motor I've had it for a few years now. I used to have it on a garbge conveyer belt And occasionally it stopped and I had to let it cool down. Right now it is in my mobile crane and can lift about 3/4 pound of stuff. I plan to get 2 xl motors and get an unimog u400 for Christmas and replace the m motor that comes with it with an xl then use the m motor for steering because I'm going to make it rc and have the other xl for driving.

This set is great for making things that do not have power function functional. For example l made Lego set # 42020 functional by getting a battery box and l made the propeller spin.

Very useful motor & some advice on how to use

By Volcanorupt

from Undisclosed

Comments about LEGO Power Functions M-Motor (8883):

A well motor that fits perfectly in small systems, allowing steering, pulley lifting and turntable turning. It is a great motor, I say again. I'm totally not complaining of its mediocre power as it is used for small tasks. Note that the motor's purpose is not to drive heavy trucks & cars and mechanical arm lifting. It is used mainly on beams that has studs on them. However, I would recommend the motor to have more holes on it's sides to enable fitting it on normal Technic beams. It is recommended for consumers to purchase the (9670 E-Motor) from Lego EDUCATION to fully understand the M-Motor's true potential of driving dreams of mechanisms.

Great job.

By jds7777

Comments about LEGO Power Functions M-Motor (8883):

I have had 2 of these motors for about 1 year. A wire in one of the motors has come loose inside. They are fairly fast, but being the speed-obsessed kind of person that I am, might I suggest a little more speed and power? Other than that they are great motors! Oh, and they need more "mounting holes". For technic application.

This is a great standard motor, but upon making brake discs for my F1 car, it had too much power. Artwo

Fantastic beginning motor

By Thunderlego94

from Austin

Comments about LEGO Power Functions M-Motor (8883):

This is the first lego motor that i have acquired. It is excellent for use. It gives a fair amount f power and it is good and small so that it can fit on the objects that are built. I have built large cranes and etc that use the motor and it is wonderful. It is fun to work it out with the infrared remote as well. I promote it and think that it is a good motor to start of with. I am going to definitely try other motors to see how they work, but i recommend this as a good beginning option!
