We tried a few other cups before trying this one. With uther cups, just "biting" on the cup spout would release a ton of luquid and he would be totally soaked. Unlike others, my son had a much easier time with this cup. He was able to get water easily, but did not get the excess he did with others. The handles can be removed and used without, which was nice as he progressed with his drinking. Best thing, this cup did not spill when left around the house!

we use this for our 1 year old's (i think he started using it around 10 months) water and milk. it does not leak at all. love it. we may buy another one because we lost the lid to it. you will not be disappointed.

The first time I went to use the cup I too noticed that it was impossible to get anything from it, and after careful inspection I realized that the little ball in the rubber tip under the valve had to be pushed in completely before screwing it to the base. This solved the problem.

my 6 month old son learned to drink from this cup really quickly. he was drinking by the second try. i tested a bunch of different sippy cups myself and this cup was the easiest to drink from. the spout is really soft, the liquid comes out with minimal effort, and it's totally spill proof. the parts come apart and is easy to clean. i also like that it has a lid. however, there's a rubber ball in the middle of the lid that has to be immersed in the liquid for it to come out of the spout, so either the cup has to be REALLY full or it has to be tilted really high for the liquid to come out. this is really difficult for a 6 month old unless he's lying down. i end up filling the cup all the way to the top with water just so my son can drink about 1 oz. the colors are also pretty crazy. i wish they kept the color scheme down to 2 or less colors per cup.

This cup was given to my son as a gift when he was approx 6 months old. He wanted nothing to do with it for a few months and we re-introduced it at 9 months. He caught on quickly and easily got the water out. Fast forward to 12 months old. Now that he is on milk, 1/2 water 1/2 juice and all table food I have found this cup has taken on the smells of whatever liquid I put in it.Also, the part that goes in my son's mouth has become discolored due to different foods from lunch/dinner time. Hand washed and run through the diswasher does not remove the odor or stain. It's really a loss, I won't be using this cup any longer. I bet if we kept this cup for just water it would have been fine.

I bought this cup for my 7 month old and she loves it. It has the soft spout, the handles make it easy for her to hold, and she doesnt have to suck hard to get the liquid to come out. It is totally spill proof. Very easy to take apart clean, and re-assemble. I love the fact that it has a cap to keep spout clean between uses!!!

I purchased this product for my 8 month old and she showed mild interest in using cup until I removed the slowing vlave. However the insert is what keeps cup from spilling. If this is your first cup and you plan to use a cup similar in shape, buy it it will help in training without using the valve. You will have to aid child to prevent a mess.
