This is the best Nerf gun ever! (Well, the Magstrike and Modded Titan are better but you know what I mean) Anyway, with fresh batteries, it gets a range of 40 feet. That is the actual range tha I have measured, and I give my personal garuntee that it is the true range. By the way, I use Energizer batteries. These seem to increase the range of my Stampede and Vulcan.
It feels good to carry, if a little large for smaller kids. The center of balance is right above the pistol grip, so you can, with practice, fire it with one hand. The clip release is ambidexterous, but the power button/safety is only for righty's. (Sorry for all of you Southpaws out there, but this will add a good deal of time to your preperations)
This gun has a better rate of fire than the Vulcan, faster reloads, and, if you have a Raider drum, you have a larger ammo capacity aswell. The Stampede never jams. It has good accuracy, and along with it's long range, makes it better at "sniping" than the Longshot.
The guns attachments add a lot to it. The sheild is almost useless, but it does help a little if you are prone. The Bipod/Grip is awesome. The grip makes the gun a little easier to aim while standing, and the bipod allows for a very stable firing platform. The Stampede can even have a shoulder strap clipped on.
In the end, this gun is good. You would be making a mistake not to buy it. What are you still doing reading this really long review you computer nerd? GO GET THIS GUN!!!!!!!!!!!

I bought 2 of these for my kids this year and they loved them. My youngest is 4 and he can load and fire the gun on his own which is a big improvement over previous Nerf guns. The only down side I see is I am going to need to get darts by the case.

Son loves that it is automatic and shoots very quickly. Definitely has the edge in any wars with friends. Have not found any cons at this time besides it using 6 D batteries. I am hoping that they do not die quickly.

I bought this toy for my nephew living in France because his mother picked that toy. He apparently was dreaming of this toy. Personally, I am against weapon and did not like the idea of buying such a present. So I have little to say about it...except that the kid was really happy!
