I ordered this for christmas for my daughter. It worked for a week, 1 week and now the microphone does not work anymore. I went against the other reviews and what other people had said about it not lasting. My daughter is 6 and did not treat this product rough or anything, she just used it for a microphone to sing into for a whole week. Avoid this product it is horrible!

I purchased 2 of the Barbie light Up Karaoke Machines for Christmas gifts for my granddaughters. They arrived very quickly but when I opened the box I had received the 2011 model not the model that had been pictured or the number that I had ordered. When I called Toys R Us I was told that they didn't even have the new model in the warehouse. The lady took all my information and had someone check it out. Within 2 days I received a call from Toys R Us apologizing but they did not have the model that I ordered. I received free shipping back and 15% off of my next purchase. I feel I shouldn't have been charged the full price in the 1st place, since it was an old model. I also feel this is false advertising. I have never ordered something on line especially from a name brand store like Toys R Us and been sent something beside what I ordered. They had my phone number , I feel I should have been informed that I would receive last years model. I would have then canceled my order.

Everything on this is great looking and works great, except that it came with no microphones, and won't fit the microphones we have from another Barbie Kareoke model that broke, and won't fit any standard microphone. And since we wanted a Kareoke machine, not just a CD player, the kids and I are unhappy.

My two and three year old granddaughters love it, but I am concerned they are going to break the cover where you put the cd into the machine. It is made of plastic, including the hinges. Hours of enjoyment watching them sing since they received the machine.

After receiving the wrong model twice we finally got the right model but when we went to set it up Christmas Eve to surprise our daughter the next morning we discovered that there was no microphone!! We tried to use the machine anyway but when we plugged it in the words of the songs just scrambled all over the tv screen. Our daughter was so upset. Called ToysRUs the next day to replace it and the quickly sent out another..but it was the wrong model again! Called the day that arrived and the wrong model was sent again!! We've now had 5 karaoke machines come through our house and only one was the right model but it was defective and missing parts. I just reordered machine number 6...hope this time ToysRUs gets it right. I am so disappointed. I really think we ought to get the right machine AND our money back at this point!!

This karaoke machine was a huge hit for my grand-daughter's 6th birthday. I purchased a second microphone, burned a CD with some of her favorite songs and let her go with it. She loves it, her parents sing along with her and it is great family fun. My son plugged it into his IPOD and they enjoy using it that way too. Contrary to some of the other reviews, it will take burned CD's and works like a charm. This was the WOW gift for her birthday and I am so glad I bought it even though some people did not give it rave reviews......I DO!

I returned this to the store after opening it, I'm so glad I decided to test this out before Christmas. The CD player worked awesome, lights were cute, the radio scanner was a nice touch. But I plugged the mic in and no sound would come out. Plugged the mic into my electric guitar amp and it worked great. So it was some issue with the machine, even when I turned the volume all the way up for the mic, nothing. I would have been willing to buy another one because it is very cute, esp the lights, and i like the radio option, but the store was sold out.

My daughter got this as a gift last Christmas and it is in the garbage already. Plugged into stereo as directed but sound would come and go. Lights & when worked would be fun but alot of times it wouldnt work not matter what setting it was on. In addition microphone was easily taken apart by a 5 year old. Save your money.
