My daughter who is 5 came up with her own story line (about unicorns) and drew all the pics. We mailed in the kit, and a few weeks later, a lovely bound book with her story arrived. She absolutely loved it and was very proud of her creation. I will for sure be buying her more of these kits in the future.

I read the reviews. I knew my 9 year old likes to write and illustrate stories. But she opened the present, saw the "little" kids on the cover, and immediately put it aside. "Too babyish" were her words. I showed her how she could use the kit; I explained it didn't matter that the kids on the cover were younger than her. This may be my daughter's fault, or mine for not expecting the "too babyish" reaction. So - know your child.

My son received this and started his first book a few months before his 6th birthday. We took our time when he was "in the mood" and had patience. The book came out amazing! I love that we have captured his drawings and hand writing forever. We made additional books for gifts and he was able to dedicate the books to each recipient. He's now almost 8 and wants to be an author. We love it!

Our oldest daughter had one of these when she was younger and we still have the book. This year we got one for our youngest daughter and she is very excited to write her own story. I think this is one of the best gift ideas out there for creative youngsters. I would definitely recommend it to others

I was impressed with what was in the box. My daughter was really excited to get this as a gift. The only thing that was not advertised was that you draw and write your book on the sheets provided and then send the pages out to a plant to have them bound in a hard bound book. It is really cool and you can also purchase additional copies for grandparents of your childs lastest creation.

I highly suggest this product! I purchased this for my daughter when she was in Kindergarten and was a little iffy on how it would turn out especially with her being so young at the time. We now have a beautiful hard cover book that we will always cherish...we even had three extra books made to give as gifts.

It's now been four years since she's made it, and each year for show and tell, she brings in her book showing it off full of pride!

This is a great product! It encourages children to use their imagination. I ordered this for my son a couple years ago and he loved it when the actual hard covered book arrived! I gave to my niece as a Christmas gift this season and she had it out of the package and creating her own story once the wrapping paper was ripped off!

LOVE THIS IDEA!! My daughter has already published her 1st book with Illustory and keeps asking for more. It's a great way to have your child put together her thoughts on an event, subject, etc and put on paper, illustrate it with pictures and get a "Real" book mailed back to her. She's already shared it with her classmates and teacher. I highly recommend this!
