This cup seals well but the liquid gets trapped in the straw and leaks out the top of the cup. If you detach the straw while traveling or ony fill it 1/3 of the way, you should be ok!

I use them for water and put the milk in the nuk ones because they do not leak. When you do fill these up the pressure builds and the water comes up. Once you take a drink its done. I either hand it to my daughter right away or I take a sip. I like them because you can pull the top over the straw and keep it clean when away from home. They also fit in the stroller and car seat holders.

My daughter started using these at 1 yr. and loves them. We have not had any problems with leaks or the liquid coming up the straw. She loves the sounds it makes when she breaks the suction to the straw. For us, these cups work best!

\These cups are great in principle, but they leak all over the place. Pressure builds in the cup, and there's nowhere for liquid to go except up the straw. I understand why there's no 2nd hole to release pressure (it would leak also), but the valve does nothing to stop the back flow. I had 4 of these cups and all 4 had the same problem. Even when the straw mechanism was closed, a small amount of liquid would leak around the rim and through the straw. I scrapped all of these and moved onto another brand.

These cups are great if you don't over fill them and don't put them in the fridge. After purchasing them we only put room temperature water in them and they never leaked. After putting milk in them and sending them off to day care with my daughter her teachers told me they were leaking all over the place. I finally figured out it was when the liquid in there was cold it started leaking out of the straw after it was taken out of the fridge and the liquid started to warm a bit.

Overall I don't mind them for water and they are easy to take apart in order to wash all the pieces.

Got these after using Munchkin brand bc I was tired of liquid coming back up though the straw and when I first got them home they worked fine for like the first day then they started doing the same thing, it doesn't leak from the lid, it comes up through the straw. I don't get it, Im guessing all the straw sippys do this, not sure what's creating suction for this to happen.

My daughter loved the cups. They were a great size for her little hands and she had an easy time drinking from the straw. What I didn't love was the constant worry that they were going to leak from the straw. They didn't leak the first few weeks we used them, but then the liquid started coming up the straw even when the cup was upright!! I got rid of them and switched to the tommee tippee straw cups which so far do not leak. (But warning if you try them - the valves are really complicated so make sure you read the instructions carefully or the cup will be VERY difficult to drink from.)

This is the only cup I ever convinced my daughter to use. We started at 9 mons and for 4 months bought 5 types of cups! Finally at 13 months old she LOVED this and immediately abanoned the bottle! It does leak up thru the straw, but only when I've jammed more than 8oz in it. If I give about 6oz. at a time it works perfect. The clean up is a tiny bit of a hassle, I use small pipe cleaner bottle brushes to go in and out of all the straw pieces. But she is a baby who used dr. browns, so it's easier than her bottles used to be. I would and have recommended this cup to my friends with same age children.

I have bought both these and the insulated straw cups and for some reason after 1-2 uses they all leak from the straw. It is very disapointing because I only use the playtex cups and like that I could use any bottom with any top. The non-straw cups are the best and never leak.

These are good cups. Overall strong enough to take a beating from a toddler, easy to clean and assemble. The key to a straw sippy is to always rinse the parts quickly after use (no one wants spoiled milk stuck in a straw). They can be tough to unscrew the top at times. My biggest complaint about ALL straw sippy cups is when you put cold liquid in it and tighten the lid, then the liquid comes out the top of the straw and runs down the cup, making a mess. My DD quickly snubbed all spout cups once we weaned her from the bottle at about 13 months. So I have tried just about every straw cup out there and they all do this. She is 2 now, and I have replaced the tops with No-spout tops from playtexstore.com. They are awesome! Same cup with a NO leak no-spout top, and no straw to clean. She calls it her "big girl cup".
