Puffer Pete is a nice addition to the line-up of die-cast chuggers. Santa brought the the training yard with loop and all three "trainees" for our son for Christmas. He loved it so much that we started buying him chuggers individually. Puffer Pete is fine to look at but he doesn't make it around the training yard's power loop. I think it is the weight distribution/shape of this particular engine, others do very well. If your kid is a big fan, go for it, but be advised he isn't going to zip through the loop like Koko or Wilson.

I was so excited to get a few of these Chuggington trains for my son to add to his train set. I knew he would love the familiar characters so I ignored my annoyance that the trains clip together instead of attaching by magnets. Once we opened the packages, we were further frustrated by the fact that they do not fit a standard train track. So many train sets, from Thomas the Train to cheap knock-offs, fit that generic size but these wheels are set much too narrow for it. We were really disappointed and will not be purchasing any more since they are useless with what we already own.

Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend
