I did extensive research and review-reading before purchasing a high chair. As a result, I waited until my girls were 8 months old before I made my decision. Honestly, I wish I had found and purchased the Polly Magic earlier.

The reclining seat with infant insert and adjustable height would have been helpful when I had to bottle-feed the girls simultaneously.

I love almost everything about this high chair. I assembled both chairs in about 15 minutes. They're easy to fold, easy to move around, and easy to adjust. The chair is attractive and modern for a more traditional looking high chair. I considered the Boon Flair, the Inglesina Zuma, and several others...but decided that the Polly Magic had the longest list of useful features an aesthetic I could live with.

Important to note: THE CHAIR DOES NOT HAVE STORAGE PEGS FOR HANGING THE TRAY.

The manual shows storage pegs and instructs the user on how to hang the tray on the back legs. This is inaccurate. I contacted Chicco about the missing pegs and they gave a half-hearted apology along with these "helpful" suggestions:

1. Leave the tray on the chair.
2. Store the tray separately from the folded chair.
3. Set the tray aside.

I wrote them a second email, informing them that their email was patronizing and dismissive. We'll see how that goes over.

I own a number of Chicco products and have been pleased with their performance. For the most part, this chair is no different. But the inability to store the tray on the chair is a bit of a pain. The large trays are great for meal time and for giving the baby a nice area on which to play with their toys. When it comes to storage, however, finding a place large enough to accommodate the tray (without losing a large amount of counter space) is a challenge, especially when you have two.

The steepest recline seems to be perfect for giving my 8 month old girls a bottle for them to hold themselves. It's also nice to be able to recline them after feeding solids, feed them a bottle, and let them nap in the chair.

It's also easy to pull the "fold" buttons and carry the chair through my baby gate into the next room. If you're staying on the same level, the chair's casters make it easy to roll around. This is very handy, especially if you're not able to store the chairs, as they can be easily rolled out of the way if you need to get past them.

A review I read mentioned the negative aspect of having the T-bar on the tray instead of attached to the chair itself. I agree, it's annoying. I wonder why all chairs don't have the T-bar attached to the chair. It would be helpful to keep the baby in place as your buckling or unbuckling and would make it much easier to store the tray, particularly on a chair which lacks the ability to store the tray directly on the chair legs.

Getting the tray to lock onto the arms isn't always smooth sailing. Additionally, when you want to slide the tray in or out, it's pretty easy to just have it come off if you're not applying pressure to the top.

Taking into account the +s and -s, I have no buyer's remorse. I'm happy with the chair(s) and am glad I purchased them. Just make sure that you know the shortcomings and are willing to live with them before you make your purchase.

Trying Out - Possibly Good Chair

We did try this chair out in the store prior to purchasing and had some strong reservations. We went over some of them with a Babies R Us representative and who was nice enough to help us out while looking at the different models of high chairs. We decided to purchase and try the unit out. My review may change as we have more time with the chair. Below are our first concerns and thoughts.
With the T-Bar (crotch bar per the manual) in place there isn't much room for our 6 month old who is actually a 12 month old hiding out. If the T-Bar is attached you can't place the tray as close as you may want. The Australian version of the Polly Magic seems to have a better design with a rounded Post in the center of the tray without the full thigh bar present on the US version. When we tried the chair in the store with the T-Bar in place and decided to try it without the T-Bar. Well if we are going to keep it we have to use it without the T-Bar. Also installing the Tray is difficult with the T-Bar I had to look and make sure I wasn't crushing our baby's legs, crotch or anything in between. The T-Bar is not installed when you purchase it and it can be removed if you find it doesn't work for you. The tray doesn't slide on it is pushed down onto the support arms. There are marks on the support arm – 1 to 4 with a safety indicator, which we didn't see in the store. These marks though difficult to see are useful for placement of the tray and I would add necessary. In the store we and the representative had a hard time figuring out if the tray was locked in place and if we placed it on correctly. This tray locking mechanism has five push on locking tabs that all have to be engaged for the tray to be locked in place. The tray is removable with one hand but you will need two hands to push it into place. Once in place you can slide the tray to another stop point but you will need to hold it down with one hand and slide with the other. Again a two handed operation. I will also add the support arms do feel flimsy. Will they last?
The storage peg issue for the tray. The tray is designed with the hangers on the back and lines up with the legs fine. I am not sure why the US Silver model doesn't have attachments pegs! The Australian version has them???? It would be an extremely easy fix for Chicco to add these. A two piece clip that went around the support leg you tightened up with screws wouldn't alter anything in the design or safety of the unit.
Some assembly is required. No tools are needed. Put the wheels on legs and attach the main chair. Open up and add storage net, foot rest. Only took about 10 minutes.
The additional infant pad has a slot for the main pads seat to go through. On ours this slot is not wide enough causing the seat pad to bunch up. The pads are not machine washable and can't be place in a dryer. I am not sure you will ever need too though. The pads seem to be easily cleaned with a wipe or sponge.
The chair moves easily on a wood floor and you will need to lock all four wheels to make sure the chair is safe. Locking the front two wheels when the chair is used under a table maybe too difficult to reach but will need to be done or your child could push the front of the chair. One model we looked at had a central wheel locking feature I didn't think much of at the time but it now seems like a great idea.
The chair looks great and will accommodate a child up to 37 pounds. Our baby is the size and weight of a 12 month old at 6 months! If he keeps this up he will outgrow this chair quickly. For this reason we may need to look at something that can handle more than 37 pounds. The tray height was about chest high for our child. Some reviews have mentioned the tray being a bit high for their smaller babies. In the store our baby seemed to like the chair, once we start to use at home I will update.

Comments about Chicco Polly Magic High Chair - Silver:

I bought this highchair because I thought it'd be easy to clean and because I liked that you could lean the seat back and fold it up. Turns out it's IMPOSSIBLE to clean, I only leaned the seat back a few tines when my baby was really little and we never fold it up. The material itself is easy to wipe off, but it has like a bazillion nooks and crannies and especially the ones between the arm rests and the seat can only be cleaned with a hose! That's usually how I deep clean it, take it outside and hose it off and use the jet setting to get in those arm rest crannies. So, yeah, it's easy to clean if you have a hose with a jet setting available at all times.
Also, the seat reclining function just got stuck somehow and now the chair is stuck in a crooked position. Will be calling Chicco to see if they can help or give a refund. Would never buy this chair again.

I have twin one year olds who are now feeding themselves. The tray on this chair is a NIGHTMARE. It screws together when you assemble it. There is a crevice all along the entire tray. Food gets stuck in it all the time. It is awful to clean...the tray is huge and barely fits in our sink. One try is still snapping onto the chair fine but the second one sticks for some reason. The thought of using these chairs for another baby or until the girls are two makes me want to bang my head into a wall. There are lots of places where the crumbs can go and its hard to clean....wouldn't purchase....run..

Comments about Chicco Polly Magic High Chair - Silver:

This high chair was fine was my son was eating purées only and we fed him. Ever since he has started feeding himself, this chair has been a nightmare. It is pretty much impossible to clean unless you take the entire chair apart. Not something I want to do after every meal and snack. There are so many crevices that trap food. Also there is a seam in the tray along the side that faces the baby that gets totally packed with food and I have to use a needle to try to clean it out. Horrible. The tray is huge and does not fit in our kitchen sink. It is bulky overall and hard to move around on a rug or carpet. We plan on selling this high chair (after pressure whashing, the only way to get it totally clean) and getting a new one. My advice is the simpler the better when it comes to high chairs!

We got this as a baby shower gift and I was so excited I set it up just a few days later (the baby didn't get here for another month!)
Assembly wasn't too difficult. I did it on my own and was 8 months pregnant. Just read and follow the instructions carefully.
When we got home from the hospital with our new bundle of joy, we found this made a great place to lay him down in the fully reclined position. The different reclining positions is my favorite feature!
As others have mentioned, it does get a little warm.
I liked being able to have him lay in it and snooze and I could wheel him around to different rooms.
Now that he is starting to self feed, this is a great chair. The tray is a bit bulky and large but I find more stays on the tray and off the floor this way. Haven't had any issues with clean up or storage.
Love this chair and hope to get lots and lots of use and years out of it

Its an amazing chair for features from the cushy seat to the recline, storage and tray that removes. BUT oh my gosh live and learn....the more features means the more tiny crevices for food to get Stuck in. the amount of recline positions and tray parts traps little bits of food impossible to remove.,I have used pins,.knives, tools anything to try and get the food out. Beware of this if your little one is a messy eater. Even the cushions trap food in the stitching. other than that daily stress its great.

Comments about Chicco Polly Magic High Chair - Silver:

It's a great seat--function wise--but I'm going to have to talk you out buying it due to the fact that the fabric is unfit for any child or person. It's HOT and makes my twin boys sweat, almost immediately, EVERY time they're in it. The worst is the extra infant attachement that's made out of leather(?). And even without it, my boys sweat. The back of their heads and necks are always WET with sweat when I get them out. Sometimes even running down their back. They never sweat anywhere else. It's just a VERY POOR choice of fabric for any infant item. I loved these highchairs when I saw them in store and had to have them for my twins, so my mom bought them for me for christmas. I'm sort of wishing she wouldn't had bc I couldn't afford 2 on my own therefore I would have bought something else. And how I wish now, I had those something else. This seat fabric is just awful. And therefore, I don't recommend it at all, no matter how cool the seat is in function. And kitchen's are already a hot place so it's really really disappointing with the fabric they chose to go with. I don't care how easy it is to clean--I'd rather wash a cover 2xday then my babies sweat everytime they eat. Speaking of covers, I'm now having to makeshift 2 covers for these awful hot chairs.
