Even though this is just for pretend, my kids like to feel like they are actually doing something. Even they know this broom stinks. The bristles DO NOT MOVE across the floor and the straw pieces that break and bend off to the sides are inflexible and therefore sharp. Been looking to replace this for some time now. Total junk.

This is a good little broom and dust pan set for the price. The bad reviews were from those who bought it for a child younger than the product's stated age range and that's probably why it wasn't a "hit". The broom is nearly 3 feet long and meant for a child who is taller than the broom itself (hence the 3-5 age range on it - my son just turned 3). The bristles are a little stiff, but it is just for pretend play. All in all, a good buy.

The price was right on this little broom and dust pan. My 18-month-old seems to like it, but the broom bristles are very small and bound tightly together. It would be much better if the bristles were wider.

My little g'daughter @ 15mos was trying to use my kitchen broom & kept knocking stuff over. Thought I'd try a shorter broom & this looked so cute online. She HATED it from the get-go. I let her 'try it' at the store but its bristles're so tight & hard it won't sweep- it just sort of clunks across the floor. She threw it down & left it. I ended up buying myself a new broom & cut the old broom she liked down to 3'& gave her a little dustpan. She's happy, I have a better broom...& a VERY clean kitchen floor :) In my opinion this product needs way more flexible bristles to be more 'broomlike'.

Bought this for my 19 mo. old son since he was always swiping the kitchen broom and attempting to do something with it. Of course, to them it is more of a weapon, but I would rather it be a smaller one, so I bought this little broom. He loves it, but as you can see from the picture, the bristles are bound and very straight, and that is the way they will remain.
