The Air Hogs Star Wars Zero Gravity X-Wing Starfighter is an awesome toy; and here are the reasons why I think you will agree.
First, the packaging, what makes it awesome is that the toy was so easy to remove, yet it was secure and protected. It was so easy in fact, that my son was able to remove it all on his own. Why does this matter? Well, as any parent can attest, most toys are super difficult to remove, which makes children impatient and parents frustrated.
Next, the contents of the box. Inside you will find a realistic looking X-Wing Starfighter, a matching remote control, instructions, and a sheet of very cool glow in the dark wall clings.
Now to set up your new toy, you must install 6 AA batteries (not included) into the remote which also works as the charging unit for the X-Wing. Installation of the batteries is simple, and now you're ready to charge the unit.
The remote has a small compartment on the front that contains a charge plug that fits into the base of the X-Wing. The initial charge took less than an hour, and was then ready to go.
Of course the very first surface we tried was the ceiling; unfortunately, the unit did not like the surface of our ceilings (flat paint), and it would not adhere. So, next we tried the walls, which worked great! In fact, it was so much fun to steer the X-Wing around pictures and wall decorations, my son completely got over not being able to drive on the ceilings. Although, we do plan on bringing it to someone else's home to test out different ceiling surfaces; I'll write another review about those experiences.
Next up, the floor, which worked on wood and ceramic tile, not as much fun as the wall, but still awesome!
We also experimented with other surfaces: concrete, glass, and stainless steel. We were able to get movement and steering with all of these surfaces.
The bottom line on surfaces, is that the flexibility of this toy only adds to its awesome factor!

I was given this product by Bzzagent free to try, in return of a review. There are several major drawbacks to the toy that I was shocked to find out how much the product was selling for. There is no way that it is worth the price for the quality.
First, the controller takes 6 AA batteries while the plane itself needs to be plugged into the controller to charge. With all the technology we have I was very disappointed with the batteries. The controller should have a rechargeable battery itself.
Second, I have all tile or laminate flooring and the device doesn't always move on those surfaces. It gets hung up and won't budge. Very frustrating. It seems that the wheels don't protrude enough to make a solid connection with the floor. Otherwise the tape needed to help it stick to the wall is too stiff that it interferes with the connection of the wheels to the floor. That aspect made me very mad that the company would sell the product with the connection so poor. I've tried using the toy many times thinking maybe it needed more of a charge or it needed to warm-up, but every time no matter what it still would lose the grip on the floor and not move.
Third, the controller has a correcting button to help it go straight; however, I couldn't figure it out and it will spin in circles often even when the forward button is pushed. My 9 year old son and his friend couldn't get the trim to work either and they found the idea confusing and frustrating.
Forth, it does have an incredible hold on the walls; however, again it falls short. My walls do have a small bit of texture so I thought okay it won't work as well. This is were it didn't make sense. One wall it wouldn't move at all, but on a different wall same texture it moved quite well. It is very unlikely that it will ever be on the ceiling as the package reads because it can't maneuver on corners. The wall it is put on is the wall it will stay on.

I received this product through bzzagent to review for air hogs. I have several kids who were very excited to try this toy but it did not work for us. Our walls were not smooth enough for this product to work and after 2 days of trying on different walls the ship broke and could not be used at all. I was left with some very sad kiddos!

Comments about Spin Master 1001130 Air Hogs Star Wars Remote Control Zero Gravity X-Wing Starfighter:

I received this product through a BzzAgent campaign from Air Hogs for free and gave it to my 8-year-old. He was a little disappointed to find out that it didn't fly but thought it was just as cool that it could climb walls. He opened it, charged it, and put it on the floor to drive.......and nothing happened. There are two ways to slide the switch, one way it works on the ground and one way it works on the walls and ceilings. For whatever reason, and I'm still trying to figure this out with support, the mode on the ground doesn't work. He tried it on the wall and this worked perfectly. He also learned that if he left the button on the side for the wall it does work on the floor as well. He's a little frustrated that he can't get it to go from the floor to the wall without picking it up but we don't know if it just doesn't do that or if he hasn't found the right angle. The remove requires 6AA batteries which then charges the device and the charge doesn't seem to hold all that long. Regardless of it's limitations I gave it a 3 because he does enjoy playing with this everyday once the device is fully charged.

We received the X-Wing Fighter from BzzAgent to test with my 6 and 12 year old boys. Be warned, it takes a lot of batteries - 6 AA's in all. The learning curve is a little steep for my younger son, but after a while, he finally figured it out. The plane flew along the walls pretty well, but had some trouble flying across the ceiling because of the texture up there. Floor mode worked well, as long as the floors were clean. If there was dust and stuff lying around, it tended to get stuck. The charge time is pretty good - it lasts around 15 minutes per charge. A little longer than some of the other remote controlled toys we have. Overall, it is a great toy and the kids really enjoy using it.

Comments about Spin Master 1001130 Air Hogs Star Wars Remote Control Zero Gravity X-Wing Starfighter:

We received this product for free from BzzAgent in exchange for an honest review. This was the second Air Hogs remote control toy that we tried, and it was a small improvement in performance.

The toy takes six double a batteries, and takes ten to fifteen minutes to charge. There are several buttons on the toy that could get confusing to the younger kids, as you need to switch modes if using on the floor or ceiling.

Much like the other Air Hogs Zero Gravity toy, it does not work too well on textured walls but was certainly better overall than a previously reviewed Air Hog Zero Gravity toy. It did zoom pretty fast up our smooth fireplace wall which reaches our high ceiling. The noise is very loud and slightly annoying. The X Wing did not work at all on the wood floor or tiled floor. My son stated that the controls were easy to learn but once you press a direction it has a lag time before it will adjust its direction.

Based on using two different Air Hog Zero Gravity toys this was the better one of the two. It did change directions and move pretty well on the smooth surface. I did try it on the ceiling and while it stood there, once you attempted to move it the X Wing would crash to the floor.

The toy comes with a sheet of wall stickers to use to zig zag through if the kids have enough imagination and patience. The detail and coloring of the Starfighter is also pretty decent.

If given the choice to pick out another toy, he would not use that chance on another Air Hogs Zero Gravity toy, though he is willing to try out a non-zero gravity toy. Thanks to BzzAgent for sending us the Air Hogs Star Wars Remote Control Zero Gravity X-Wing Starfighter to test out.

Comments about Spin Master 1001130 Air Hogs Star Wars Remote Control Zero Gravity X-Wing Starfighter:

I just want to say that my husband has played with this more than my children! Maybe he's my biggest kid! First off the packing was easy to get into. This is surprising because I was ready with my razor. Packing is my biggest frustration most of the time! The kids were excited to get the glow in the dark stickers. The fighter is rechargable and only takes about 10 mins to fully charge. The charger is wired into the remote. This is an awesome feature because my kids are always misplacing chargers! The remote requires 6 rechargable batteries. The fighter clings great to smooth surfaces. It hold onto the walls a lot longer then it does to the celing. It will work on the celing but it typically falls pretty quickly! It also will drive on the floor. That's probably where we have used it the most. We've been playing with it for a few weeks now and the batteries are still good. I received the toy for free through BzzAgent in exchange for my honest review. Given the chance to purchase this I would still pay full price! My family is full of Star Wars geeks!

IF you read anything please don't allow your kids to remove the white strips from bottom, they are there for the wall flying feature! Received this in the mail, they are there for the wall flying feature! Received this in the mail and for a Star Wars fan this would be an awesome gift as a collectible, for a toy the concept was awesome however for the walls in my house it didn't work so well. I think the issue really has to do with our heavily textured walls that allowed the device to lose suction. It takes 6 AA batteries the X wing charged Quickly and lasted a decent time it was longer than I was expecting. It has been a week and still haven't had to replace the batteries in the remote, with energizer max. The first sentence mentioned not removing the some things, my Son thought he was helping when he removed the white tape that allows the device to create wall suction, I was unable to Successfully find a suitable replacement. There is trim controls however I didn't notice a big difference. I have found at least with mine is that the Controls stick slightly for an adult con be annoying both my Kids 8 and 11 love to play with it. Overall I would highly recommend as a gift.

I ended up removing the side flaps so it can run easier due to me attaching them wrong. Remember leave them on it makes life much easier Haha.

I received this toy free for the purpose of creating honest reviews. Everything I have said is my honest opinion and experience hope this review is helpful and you enjoy the toy.

I received this toy as part of a bzzzzagent review. My nine year old son and husband couldn't wait to open it.
We found that it needed 6 aa batteries which we did not have and had to go and purchase. Most come with a battery pack you have to charge up hours before playing. So as much as it was nice to get the batteries in the controller and plug up the plane was faster than other models we have had the thought of 6 batteries to replace every time is a bit costly. I was also shocked it costs as much as it does. I was thinking in the 20 buck range. However, when they got it running they had hours of fun before we had to replace the batteries. Good thing we got the big battery pack! All in all my son liked it and was very happy!

      Didn't perform well!

Comments about Spin Master 1001130 Air Hogs Star Wars Remote Control Zero Gravity X-Wing Starfighter:

I received the Star Wars Zero Gravity X-Wing Starfighter from Bzzagent.com free to test and give my honest opinion. I have two boys ages 13 and 16, both huge Star Wars enthusiast and were excited to check out this toy.

The X-Wing Starfighters remote control requires 6AA batteries (not included). Don't expect to take it out of the box and immediately and start soaring over your ceilings and walls. The Zero Gravity X-Wing Starfighter must be charged by using a wire stored inside a storage compartment door. The charging takes about 15 minutes or less to be fully charged

The operation of the unit is simple with 3 power switch positions on the X-Wing Starfighter unit (wall/ceiling, off, and ground setting). The remote controller has 2 power positions (off and on/charge)
The Star Wars Zero Gravity X-Wing Starfighter comes a sheet of glow in the dark stickers you can place anywhere.
We started by setting the X-Wing Starfighter on the wall! It suctioned to the wall with no problem and the boys had a great time maneuvering around pictures and light switches. We tried it on the ceilings but it wouldn't adhere to our flat paint and fell to the ground several times. When switched to the ground setting it wouldn't glide across our laminate floor but when we left it in wall/ceiling mode it would. We only got about 10 - 15 minutes of play with a single charge.

Overall we are disappointed with the durability and performance of this Zero Gravity Star Wars X-Wing Starfighter.
